    When i click multiplayer and start to look for game servers, i get message retrieving server information (number of servers).     i still feel that:

    stuns only for overhead attacks with 2handers
    stamina decrease ONLY if you miss the strike
    client based manualblock
    kick
    all weapons balanced according to range, damage, damage to shields, price, speed but setuped so, that everyone has a chance to counter after manual block

    and NOTHING ELSE is everything this game needs. its simple, understoodable, natural to play...

  7. Melee sucks, and it didnt in the past.

    i think the gameplay became to complicated and the more features were introduced to balance it, the more new problems appeared. i started to get this feeling after chambers, stuns, parrying, ripostes etc... patches. i don't want to say, that all the features introduced were bad, but  the overall feeling of intuitive original M&B combat was in the end gone - at least for me.

    looking back and seeing all the way the Warband has done in development i think the only big problem we ever had were the spammers.  i was not fan of this feature in the begining, but i really think that something like stamina should be implemented against spammers and keep the rest of the game simple instead of all these cool hard to trigger lag dependant features.

    client based manual blocking
    kick
    stun done by 2h weapons by overhead strike only

    add

    stamina - it would take only a few secs to regain it to full state (but long enough so that everyone can get close to the spammer and initiate "normal" combat)

    i can imagine that stamina would drop down drastically only if you would miss the hit, otherwise it would decrease only a little bit - this would work very well, cause the normal combat wouldn't be affected by stamina almost at all, but the spammers that miss 80 percents of their attacks would go down.

    just my 2 cents...

    p.s.
    the other issues like overpowered or to fast or to long weapons are no real problem imo - it is simple to balance this just when the spaming will be gone by altering a few numbers...

    a few patches ago i'd sign this too.

    now not, cause i stopped playing some time ago after everybody went "antiturtle crazy" (although i never saw anybody turtling, i always only saw weapon spamming which is completely different issue) and as reaction to this antiturtle craziness all the chamber blocks, ripostes, hits through blocks etc were introduced. imo far to complicated and to much lagg dependant features presented at the time when we even didn't have manual blocking, weapon distances, turning speeds finally solved. not to mention connections probs, final physics etc...

    before these for me complicated features i felt the combat was ok, except for some minor adjustments to inertia or kicks, that could solve wep spamming and huggers.

    well i believe warband will be great game even with these features, just it went to complicated for my tiny brain compared to the first very simple and natural combat system it had, which was imo just genious. ill check it back for sure a few patches later...
  9. Crossbow men - OP?

    xbows are stronger than before, because fast 1h weapons now rule the battlefield. some time ago 2handers were used much more in melee and nobody complained about xbowmen melee capabilities.

    tweaking 2h/1h is the first and the most important part to make, than we can talk if xbows are OP in melee or not...

    mounted troops are still counter against archers, i don't see any problem at all. of course unless we speak about cav charge that consists from 1 attacking cavalry...

    well ok i take back a bit what i said before - have been playing a lot with nords and tried to took full stack throwing axes - i think they are quite fine in what matters accuracy and numbers, but the damage for especially heavy throwing axes is really to high. i was able 1hit kill people to the legs quite to many times with them.

    as i said before - we have here different unique factions with different unique equipment. i dont see absolutely any point in making possible for 1 class to choose from all the weapons and thuss making unique different gamestyle of different factions useless... just no, no no no...

    it seems to me that since olo started about throwing axes, everybody just became completely crazy about this topic. in general i don't see them to much unbalanced so if ever some changes should be made, than only the minor ones... i just don't see here any big problem.

    there is also possibility to come back to what i suggested long time ago - make a special class - skirmisher.

    skirmisher should be - lightly armored footies with access to basic shields and basic weapons, but able to wield also throwing weapons. he would be decent at throwing but generally would suck with melee proficiencies. regular infantry on the other hand would not be allowed to take throwing weapons but would have access to heavy armor, 2handers and all other good infantry weapons.
