    how to defend the castle

Heh, never happened to me  I just don't like the fact you can't be thrown outta your castle. Must've been hillarious though to see them caravan buggers go after your castle like that

    how to defend the castle

But you still cannot lose the castle to the enemy.. If you get a goodly beating and fall unconscious among the dead bodies of your fellows at arms while defending your keep, you just wake up after several hours realising that somebody has been to your pockets borrowing things.. but that's an already known issue..

how do you use you heros

I do use Marnid and Borcha quite a lot since, as it has been said, they cannot die. They are both now around level twenty five. Marnid is a skilled horse archer (scoring headshots as if he had an aimbot  ) while Borcha is a horseman with a shield and a sword. They are very helpful although they sometimes tend to get stranded in a group of footmen.. but what the hell, they cannot get slaughtered anyway
We travel alone and we don't have problems dispatching anything or anybody that comes into our way (I'm level 37 or sth). I prefer to equip them from looted equipment although I already spent some money on their weapons (to make them more effective). I like to join one of the sides of the conflict and concetrate on 'punish raiders' missions - 4500 exp. + prisoners that you can take to your group as soldiers  it's a win win situation  .. We get to kill a lot of high level units, we have lots of loot, we get huge amount of exp and a promotion usually
To level them up at the beginning I simply let them train on low level enemies.. Went into a battle.. left around five enemy soldiers and then ordered my companions to charge.. I watched conviniently from a distance with my bow at ready to step in if something had gone wrong.. They did well.. and even against worse enemies.. they at least got the share of the experience.. and once you get to finish a 'punish raiders' mission.. levels go up like mad  They are a fine distraction at the very least.. I'm a horse archer mainly.. I focus on archery and one handed weapons.

    Right..

Well then, thanks for all the contributions  Let's hope this didn't slip Armagan's eyes

I'm locking this thread, it seems to have served its purpose..

    Starting out

And don't forget about Borcha and Marnid..

Marnid - Zendar tavern, wants a padded cloth in exchange for joining you
Borcha - In Rivacheg, go to the castle, talk to the imprisoned man, then to the Lord there, you'll have to pay 50 for freeing B. Move on the map for a while and B. will talk to you twice I think. Tell him to join your party

    - there you go, two indestructible stalwart companions to aid you with the perils of your journey

    Losing a castle

Definitely not a bug, didn't mean to be so harsh on Armagan, a splendid job he's doing  I do enjoy the game a lot, it's fantastic.. Yet I'd like more sieges

(.. stupid meddling pesky players.. cannot appreciate the work that's been done.. always complainin' about somethin..)

 I know it's not like that.. It's called 'valuable feedback')) these days..

Anyway.. I love the game.. I'd just wanted to have this sorted out with the community

    Losing a castle

On the other hand, I'd still like to have more castle sieges.. and not just defending the castle, that's not so thrilling as actually conquering it.. What I had in mind at the beginning of this thread was to find out whether more people like me consider the impossibility of a castle being overtaken by enemy troops as a bug. I guess that should be corrected. But, as it has been said, Armagan definitely plans some changes with castles.. So let's just wait for further versions

Strange bug - attacking Radoghir castle when I actually own it...

    Hey..

I was looking for a proper thread to post this a this one seems to fit. Perhaps I should post this into the suggestion part of the forum..

As it has been written here, it's strange that you do not defend your castle with the troops you stationed there as a garrison but only with your party. Also, I'd consider quite logical that you could lose the castle to the enemy.. That is, in the improbable case of losing a siege (while defending), you would find yourself not only looted but also thrown out of your castle. The castle would change status - it'd be occupied by the group that attacked you.. and that way, you could enjoy sieging castles all over again  As it is now, if you lose a siege, it is just as if you lost a normal battle.

I understand though, that the garrison would have to be involved in this. Or they could just be thrown out as well and they'd be travelling around as 'free prisoners' or something.

Hmm.. Why you forces in castle didn't help? That's wierd.

It is, but that's the way it is. you defend the castle with the forces you have in your party.

    Losing a castle

Yeah, Cybren, happenned to me as well.. I thought I'd be fighting together with the garrison stationed at the castle but the thing is that you actually fight with the party you have at your disposal as you travel over the map.. I think that's quite strange but that's the way it is  :???: and that's the same thing that happenned to me - I lost, got looted.. but nothing else.. It seems, after all, that you can't really lose a castle..  too bad. Would you people think this should be included in the suggestions forum or Armagan already plans this? I mean.. to implement the possibility of losing a castle in the game..

btw: thx for all the contributions from everyone

I don't, ruler_of_darkness, that's why I ask. I'm trying to find out how, if it's possible at all, to lose a castle to an enemy in the Vanilla version of Mount & Blade.
