  1. Now all we need

I agree with the no grinding thing. I was going more on the assumption that these skills would naturally level up as you make the weapons, which you will. so its more of a bonus to doing it. hopefully making it more enjoyable

I like the extra recipes except that it adds more complexity...
  2. Now all we need

Well I'm right impressed with how far this mod has come. I was there at the beginning *sniff* briefly. Reminiscing aside. Now all we need is for the skill of a weapons forger to influence the stats of the weapons, allow them to set the price of their weapons, and allow their skills to a virtual...
  3. The Last Days v2.4 (for .808) ---Next Release Date Unknown!

I accept the fact that I am going to be flamed but here goes anyway:

The amount of time it has taken to release this mod is getting to be too much. I appreciate the fact that this is an extremely technically complicated mod in need of many many assets and graphics to look nice. I also understand that there have been some set backs that could not be accounted for and that is fine.

The reason I say it is too much is because I believe that the authors of the mod should release beta even alpha versions if they have to, whenever they work here is why: Releasing something would appease those that are constantly clamoring for it to be released. Bugs could start being tested before the mod is released, all in all shortening the time it will take for a full and patched version of the mod to be made. And finally it seems to me that this would avoid the sudden lose of huge amounts of assets and data for this mod when one of the developers bites the dust from old age (this is a joke though it might be in bad taste). If a developer did leave with large parts of the mod then hopefully some of this could be retrieved through the already released version that will already be on so many peoples' computers including the developers.

Thank you for reading and keeping flaming to a minimum.

  4. SP Fantasy (Game of Thrones) A Clash of Kings (7.0 released 13th of May, 2019)

I disagree with the choice of leaving the Night's Watch out. If it is possible to make sure they are in a locked war with a Wildling faction and unable to war against anything else then they should exist. The reason I say this is two fold: Even in the second book a lot is happening beyond the wall, not as much as is going to happen I'll admit but still. This means that the Night Watch is an important part of the book, one of the main characters is in it after all, and has plenty of interesting stuff going on. The second reason is that in a game of A Song of Ice and Fire the one thing I would want to do the most is join the Night's Watch. Something about small bands of elite warriors has always fascinated me.

I believe that the Night's Watch would serve very well as an escape from standard Mount and Blade formula to allow for a more structured quest and ranking system. With less variables and much smaller numbers it would be interesting to see the player being able to gain ranks so that they can control a few warriors then eventually raise to the rank of Lord Commander and control the entire Night's Watch.

Note that there is no use trying to stick perfectly to the books. What you want to do is start the game as faithfully as possible. But as soon as a player enters the game everything will change, and bugger what the books say. So you should allow for this and create the ability to change things: say if the player becomes Lord Commander they could strengthen the Night's Watch and take it to war into the north (as in the books) or turn around and attack the south (at what consequences).

Anyway I'm just ranting. This mod is amazing, the most successful of the ASOIF mods that I've seen so far. Keep up the good work  .

  5. I need help with a quest [SPOILERS]

I have the helmet and gave it to my master-at-arms companion because I use a cloak which is a million times more epic (in looks) then that bucket.

And sadly no, axes don't really interest me, two-handed swords would, any of those out there?
  6. Yet another question, this one about formations

    Really? Interesting
So in answer to my question my Bodyguard group shouldn't be using formations?
  7. Yet another question, this one about formations

I know I'm swamping the forum with topics but this mod is the best I have found for Warband yet, so I have a few question. Should I start condensing my questions into one topic? Anyhow my current question is: does the 'no formation' order do anything. The reason I ask this is such: when I fight...
  8. The Four Religions in Brytenwalda

Though historically you might be correct, this does make gameplay more complex. Even though this mod is trying for the realism aspect, one has to understand that we are dealing with a game and it must be playable. For example I think that something might have to be done about spears, because they were the most common weapon at the time but game-wise they suck. Big time.
  9. I need help with a quest [SPOILERS]

...thank you for telling me. I think I might have thrown my computer out of the window if I had found out on my own.

I am starting to see this pattern: quests in this mod are worth **** all. The god damn quest where you have to beat that group of trouble makers, and they are actually a rather tough fight, you get a measly 100 scillingas. I mean wtf? I'm starting to wonder if any of them are worth something.
  10. I need help with a quest [SPOILERS]

You can't go in the great hall when you sneak into town. The guard just tells you that beggars are not allowed in. Trust me I tried.
  11. I need help with a quest [SPOILERS]

****. Thought as much  . How am I supposed to get into the great hall if the town wants me dead?
  12. I need help with a quest [SPOILERS]

This happens to be the only quest that doesn't have a guide here apparently. It is the quest about the treasures of Brytanwalda. I talked to the traveling guy with a name (something like Choco something, bugger if I remember his name) then he told me to go to Cantwaraburh to see a guy named...
  13. The Four Religions in Brytenwalda

So as far as I understand it, if you want recruits when you are a pagan (celtic gods ftw) you have to forcibly recruit. Because as I get it being Christian and Pagan have their advantages: Christian you can recruit from almost anywhere, Pagan you can make lots of cash raiding monasteries.

Oh and btw, its not that being Pagan stops Christian villages from giving you recruits, it's that they hate you. On a related note: do Pagan villages slowly change to Christianity? Because I know I was recruiting of Pagan villages at the beginning of the game but now (about 100 days in) I can't find any Pagan villages.
  14. Stumbling

Could someone explain to me how it works? Because I seem to fall instantly when I move backwards (especially if I am blocking with a shield apparently) but I have yet to see an AI fall backwards at all. This is starting to piss me off as they walk backwards faster then I can run forwards apparently.
  15. Is there a wiki?

What do you mean 'if' I thought it was pretty much determined. Oh well. If my vote means anything: we definitely need it in this mod!
