    Hello, sorry for the late reply. We have fixed a considerable amount of the problems we have encountered so far and improved the game performance with the multiple patches we have released. Please make sure that your game, your drivers, and OS are up to date and the game has necessary permissions over your security software. Please let us know if the problem persists after completing these steps and verifying the integrity of the game files through Steam.

    Is anyone who's having this problem using the Frugal Cavalry mod? I was getting a crash every time I tried to upgrade a unit that needed a war horse, and after removing Frugal Cavalry, I was able to upgrade. However, I'm not sure if the mod was causing it, or just making it happen in this particular instance due to the specific horses I had, and the mod causing it to choose a different horse for the upgrade than it would have otherwise, and maybe with a different collection of horses it would happen without the mod.

    No mods in my case

    What bandits were that? Were you perhaps upgrading them from infantry to cavalry?

    Progression and XP balance

    Every quest should reward xp. Prove me wrong (protip - you can't)

    No, seriously. Quests only give gold (in ammounts that are not worth effort once you have 1 or 2 good caravans) and relations (which are kinda worthless, used only for recruitment but you can easily play without those few more units). I think most profitable quest I did yet was to escort caravan and it gave me maybe a few thousand gold. Cool, but 1 caravan gives me ~1 thousand every day. Quests are just an absolute waste of time once you manage to get a steady income - and even before that it might be better to simply travel around, trading stuff.


    Either just make all quests provide free SP that don't increase any skills but level your hero (so there's more attribute points and focus points), or make them actually reward skill xp.
    I would strongly prefer the second option. There are many types of quests and each of them can reward something. Of course it's not possible to make perfect balance with those, but hey, that's obvious when there's a system of skills rising by being used, right?
    • quests for gangs could reward roguery xp

    • quests like "kill bandits" could reward scouting xp and tactics xp

    • quest "find missing daughter" could reward scouting xp but also extend it to allow us to convince father to let them go after we spoke with them (maybe make the daughter worried about dad so there's a reason to go to him?), with both this and convincing daughter to come back rewarding charm xp

    • quest "spy party" could reward roguery xp and scouting xp (I mean, scouting is about spotting things, it doesn't have to be solely about finding things in wild, but also noticing things in urban environment)

    • quest to deliver materials to artisans and quest "artisans can't sell products" could reward trading xp

    • quests to train people could reward leadership xp and perhaps also tactics xp

    • quest "army of poachers" could give scouting xp

    • and so on with other quests that I forgot about...
    Other than quests:
    • destroying bandit camps, considering how there's all this waiting till night to prepare, could reward tactics xp (also increase scouting xp for spotting them)
    • having a succesful caravan should reward trading xp, just as skill description says
    • obviously full xp for tournament combat, maybe also some additional for winning (shared between all types of weapons?), also increased renown reward

    Sadly I have no ideas of what could fit intelligence and endurance skills, shame

    Summary: Description of smithing perk "efficient charcoal maker" says it allows making 3 charcoal from 2 hardwood, but recipe unlocked by this makes 2 charcoal from 3 hardwood, so it's the other way around. It's still 33% better than default recipe, but it just doesn't match description. How to...

    Main questline restricts gameplay and is plain boring.

    Simple solution would be to just reduce this from talking with 10 lords to talking with like 3 of them and, to still let curious players know the whole story, adding side quest to talk with another 7 or so.

    Also, when looking at "mods" in game launcher, there's a module called StoryMode. Can't be unticked now, but I assume it will eventually be possible to simply turn off the main questline

    Have you tried restarting the game? It seems to fully fix conversations, although I don't know if it will work if you saved after interrupting persuasion and are continuing from that save. Still worth a try though if you haven't done it yet.

    Are you totally unable to start conversation or are you able to start conversation but then can't choose any option?
    If it's the second, have you perhaps had an interrupted persuasion attempt, for example by quitting to main menu during it?

    You can also get attacked when alone and then your only options are surrendering or sacrifing some soldiers to escape.
    It's also quite problematic if your village gets raided or castle/town gets besieged
