Player character sees a slightly-younger-than-middle-aged looking dwarf clad in thick chainmail, a sturdy looking Nerrian knight’s helm, with a formidable looking two-handed blade strapped to his back which nearly scrapes the ground, even with the entirety of the hilt sticking up above his head, and several throwing axes in his belt. His beard, though long for a human, is significantly shorter than that of most dwarfs.
PC: What brings a dwarf such as yourself to these parts? (The dwarf, named Hrafn, would be in a town far from dwarfish lands)
Hrafn: (If PC’s charisma is below 12) That’s rightly none of your business, you slimy rat. Now would you kindly get out of my face?
(above 12) Aye, it is peculiar for a dwarf to stray so far from the mountains, isn’t it? Not that I can go back, as I’ve been disgraced by my clan. That is why my beard was cut so short. My settlement was attacked by (Quelthesas or Undead, depending on which the dwarfs are at war with. If both, Undead) raiders while I was supposed to be at lookout. I, however, had it in my mind that evening that nothing would ever attack our cozy mountain village, and I had gotten myself into a drunken stupor even as I was sitting at my post watching the sun set. Just as the (Undead) forces smashed open the gates, I was topping of my mug of ale, and when I saw those terrible rotten masses of bones killing my people, I ran. I still know not what possessed me to turn and flee, but I, and my people, have never forgiven me. It’s been nearly 5 years since then and in my exile from the ancient lands of the dwarfish lords, I have found myself with nothing but the armor on my back and weapons in my hands. Say, you seem like a strong warrior. You wouldn’t happen to know where I could find some work?
PC: Accept into party or whatever.
Hrafn should be very strong, with good armor and a good sword. He should have devastating skill with the two-handed sword, high HP and defensive skills, and be quite accurate with the throwing axes.
If you can’t do the stuff with the charisma level, oh well.
