  1. Version 0.27 Development Feedback: Oathbound System

    This sounds like an awesome idea!!! I liked the idea of freelancer but the rewards were slim, being tied to one lord gaining influence rep money rewards and still being able to level your companions sounds awesome.

    Idea time

    1 whole lot of sub quests.

    a. Lords village is being raided <bandits or lords> sends his retainer <you> to defend it. get lord influence, village influence, honor reputation. cons offending lord/ faction rep loss, Bandits send more assassin's/thugs to kill you. <cons if defense lost> huge rep loss with village/ lord or debt owed to lord for poor service.

    b. Lords daughter/wife wish's to visit the villagers. Lord sends retainers on escort mission. raiders/kidnappers/enemy faction attack. If they are defeated rep honor money, if not Lord sends you out to restore your name by destroying their hideout/raid prison otherwise huge negatives.

    c. Lord seeks to rise in power as king or lord of more lands, send you on missions to degrade other lords rep with king, or incriminate them in treasons.

    d. even though they have assassination quest in the game, they could be more specific to the lords holdings.

    2. Combat

    a. Battle command if the lord chooses not to take the field.

    b. Pre-assault skirmish's, Just like a rally battle, the city being sieged/about to be sieged needs to be raided, the lords retainers get to fight a pre-battle out side the walls with the perimeter guards, or sneak over the walls for a night raid. 

    c. Village patrols.

    Just a couple thought on options for more content. I really like the idea, and I think it would give a lot more meaning to siding with a faction. Cause really all I do right now, is get my companions choose a faction I don't like, slaughter them till I have a force large enough to make my own faction.

    Maybe have promotions from one lord to the next and end up the kings personal guard.





  2. Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord Old Discussion Thread

    I remember in mount and blade beta, that they had weight encumbrance. Heavy foot moved slower, light foot moved faster. everyone still sprinted at the same times but a little slower for some. All it lead to was archers wearing light armor running ahead of Knights jumping, spinning around, and shooting. Then continuing on their marry way to rinse and repeat. We went through a lot of rounds where the melee had crushed the enemy with 5 players left chasing one archer, to be slaughtered by our inability to keep up. They took that out because it was unfair to all in the end. They even made youtube videos where one guy would take out 10 while naked with a bow.

    I like the current system it works, people can catch each other. Does it take a long time to get somewhere ? yes, but I think this could be changed by advancing spawn points like rush mode in battle field. But at the same time it does give the game a medieval feel, as waves of players running from the spawn have to fight back the invaders who have pushed them off the battlements or out of a gate house.

    The heavy attack dash would be kinda interesting and could simple be a timer or stam bar, but that would make it a lot like Chivalry and its waiting for your next head basher attack to be ready, then running in once to run away again. Mount and Blade to me, is that constant press of shield to shield or the dance of 2handed swords, not a 1 spam attack <although feet choppers and loli chopters are close -_- >

    If they offer a pre purchase package for Banner Lord, that includes beta accesses I would gladly drop a 100$ on that, I was in the first round of multi player beta and I remember the devs actually changing things we suggested to see if it worked better or not. I have been in many many betas and the Devs simply blow off  the community response, Tale Worlds has a real grasp of what their community wants and knows they don't always have it right and actively give the tools for the community to change it. I think that is what has made the Mount&Blade series the most addictive and fun games I've ever bought. I've spent hundreds of ours in Skyrim and Oblivion, 200 hours in Battle Field 3, and all of them combined don't add up to my time in single player Mount&Blades. Plz keep up the good work <and keep your fans in the loop!>

    Glad to see you guys are keeping it going strong, been watching the progress for over a year and was so sad to see the last couple months of posts in the old thread. Plz keep going you have an entire gaming community waiting for your hard work to be completed :smile:

    If you could combine this mob with all the functionality of The Silver Stag mod it would be GREAT! im loving the factions and really like the over the top fantasy :smile: but native is so clunky now compared to many mods.

    The Horde lands and a previous mount and blade mod has player activated speacil powers, like faster bow speed for elfs a berserk mode for orcs, and it worked really well in that mod. They even had it set up for the computer to use those skills as well.

    I would also really like to see a disable companion complaints, I know it makes the player extra powerful, but I hate grooming my comapions only to have them leave because one doesn't like that I sent another on a right to rule quest.

  7. AI Support Structures. Yet another one.

    So would this fix the clustering of troops? Meaning that when infantry are ordered to charge they tend to target the leader of the enemy charge and all run twards him, creating one giant ball of death. where in reality people would square off more evenly and pic fights much closer/more eqaul to their number. Also would this fix ranged all firing at the leader of the pack as well? Or calvalry all fighting for the first guy in line ?

    ok so i disbanded all the swads joined the faction and waited a couple days for the morale changesd to take effect. so now i have +20 party unity and -78 for recent events lol i assume that is for disbanding so many ?

    hmm still wierd though cause i joined the sarranids, and it didnt change the unity number. even though i still had the swads. i have a party of 168, all comapanions and maybe 45 swad knights the rest are sarranids.

    well im sarranid i have a mix of sarranid and swad troops. if i disband all the swads i still have the -40 modifier and right now no im not part of a faction

    ok ive been playing the newest release and i like it so far, but my morale is constatly in the pits. on my morale report it always has -40 for party unity, even though now i only have one faction of troops. is this refering to a different morale factor ?
  12. Discussing features of 2.5

    I saw one person in another post say they didnt like the larger bandit parties and the bandit armies.

    BUT I LOVE IT!

    it is the perfect meat grinder to level my lowbie troops and keep a fresh stock of al haqa to keep the swadians at bay. Yes they do spawn a little fast but plz keep them in :smile:
  13. Suggestions for Implementation within the Mod

    well i haven't seen it recommended yet. I would like to see the pre battle formations mod implemented.

    it is awesome to give your infantry a move forward command x3 your archers a move back x3 and leave your Calvary where they spawn. Makes it to where you don have to worries about your knights getting stuck, and dismounting. or forgetting to have your infantry bunch up more.

    Also i know some of the older mods, had food that could increase your armies movement speed for as long as you have it in your inventory.

    I would also like to see the recruitment npcs as well. they have them in the floris mod pack, which is really nice when you can take time away from the warfronts to get low level troops.

    I to would like to seem some improvements to villages bring raided. i just got done being at war with the swads and the rohduks. and they are constantly raiding me villages, but they only attack in groups of 90. so when i come up to them with a larger army like 110 or some times fewer, they run away, but since they are smaller they can just barely outrun me. so i chase them off, but the village stays underseige, and when i move away they run right back up to it. It makes it almost impossible to defend your lands unless u fight them with a small force. i would like to see them stationary or have like a slow debuff when raiding a village for a small time.

    also the village quest to chase away the smugglers happens alittle to often, and they are to fast. When you exit the village scene it automatically makes time progress when u are doing that quest, so by the time your character can move they have a large headstart. usually they move at like 5.0 and i move at 5.2 5.3, but their headstart is so much its impossible for me to catch them before they make it to the next city. That is unless i drop off most of my soldiers at my city then go back and do the quest, but that gets rather tedious and dangerous when i am at war.

    other wise awesome mod and totaly in line with the spirit of its mount and blade counter part.
