As was discussed by @Fireserpent7 & @Bioxx earlier in this thread, I was also able to resolve this issue by setting my Steam application's desktop shortcut to always run as an administrator.

Right-click on the desktop shortcut > Properties > Shortcut Tab > Advanced Properties

I am here to report the same exact issue. After getting past the launcher:

'Safe Mode

Game shut down unexpectedly on previous session. Would you like to enable safe mode?'

You get the choice of either 'yes' or 'no', however neither work as it tries to load into Bannerlord (goes into a loading screen) and then takes about 15 seconds before failing and returning me to windows with no message.

My game did not freeze prior to any of this, however. Game was running fine yesterday, I saved and quit last night with no problem. Attempted to play again about 10-12 hours later and now the game simply won't load. I have attempted similar troubleshooting steps, though I have not uninstalled/reinstalled yet after seeing so many say that it didn't resolve their issue.
