As much as I'd like to see multiplayer I am sick of seeing threads about this.

Keep it to one thread so half the forum users don't have to wade through a knee deep pile of forum repost excrement.

I don't know why but I only use blades that can be thrusted and slashed purely for the diversity of attacks it allows me.

I love the idea of lances and the way they work in this game and I often start the battle with one drawn just to take my first opponent then I pull out a balanced sword of war to finish the enemy.

So they are the weapons I do use and I pretty much won't use anything else because they just don't appeal to my fighting style.

Blunt weapons just don't have a high enough damage output, pikes, spears other polearms just seem like defensive rather than offensive weapons. Scythes, and other small weaponry isn't worth mentioning considering its something the local peasantry has grabbed from the field.

However most weapons I find have a great sense of realism in this game. I still want to see a good noise for lance punches though!

Screaming, yelling etc.

Give the fights as much stining filthy brawling realism as possible. Giving an extra layer of sound can only improve this but I don't think there is a game like this that emulates skirmishing this well.

Is there anything you actually like about this game?

Mount and Blade has been created in a fantasy world. Nothing is stopping you and a group of modders making something historical.

Yeah I should probably try it without saves but I always like to refight some massive battles.

I use normal dificulty.

I didnt like the idea that the system was giving me a handicap of 1/2 damage.

But the damage bloody hurts now!

I would personally like to see a little more armour variety. I initially wore black armour because it was the best protection but when I encountered my first band of Dark Knights and realised I was dressed exactly the same as them I decided to go for normal plate armour and a guard helm.

Certainly doesn't protect me as much but I feel a little more righteous

I find a lot of the Swadian men at arms are often quite good on the initial charge with the couched lance.

Because I tend to charge at the front of the line on my spirited charger with my war sword it tends to take some careful maneuvering to get not get skewered and still do a nice drive by.

Yeah I'm using it. I love the sound of a what seems to be a squirting artery after a hefty slicing... the gurgling scream of death, its all to my liking

I think the only sounds we need are a few ambient noises like birds or carrion circling the field and of course the different sounds of various armour types and the noise they would make with troop movement.

But I ramble...

I've just hit level 25 and have nearly 150,000 denars.... I just think it'd be nice if there was a good way we could waste our money whether it be buying whores, real estate or creating our own towns or maybe even paying for troop training.

I just think at the moment I hesitate to pick up loot purely because I'm loaded as it is and I have all the gear I need.

I like the barbaric feel of the Vaegirs however I find it funny that they stick more to a uniform than the obviously a little more civilzed Swadians.

I do like Swadians but the Vaegir Knights really hit hard
