Hey Mazth
My "solution" is going back to the vanilla textures and edit them again, relying on somewhat improved editing skills in comparison to my very first attempt.
The first time I more or less edited a texture as a whole, experimenting with color, saturation, brightness and contrast - now I'm picking out every little detail of each texture to individually edit it, resulting in an overall much better quality in comparison.
When editing such a texture as a whole, the editing might fit for some elements of this texture, but might not be as optimal for other parts. It's a matter of compromise, so to speak.
Now I don't make such dirty compromises anymore.
And yes, the chainmail appearance just results from too high contrast - a result of the aforementioned compromise...
Concerning the coat of plates, I fear I don't have a definite answer for you. I just edited one after the other.
I really can't say when I will have all the new textures ready, sorry.
I hope it won't take too long, but I really can't promise anything... especially since "Skyrim" is on route, which I highly anticipate!
And with it comes a tasty editor...!
MAYBE I will be able to at least come up with a screenshot or two sometime soon.
Thank you very much for your interest and kind words once again, Mazth!
Best regards!
