  3. Giving troops to your caravans and farmers

    Got some help from Lord Kinlar who published the first tweak.  Here is code compiled with Diplomacy 2.5.1 and Warband 1.126.  Seems to work fine for what I was asking.

    I've just added an arbitrary value 55 in front of the dialog numbers generated by the MS to prevent any error, therefore 95 became 5595 etc.

    Compiled this code using the module system for Warband v1.126 combined with the source code of Diplomacy v2.5.1. Not sure if it works, but worth a try, I suppose.
  4. Giving troops to your caravans and farmers

    Is this what you're talking about, and if so, what do I do with it?  Let's pretend for argument sake that I'm not familiar with the module system and have limited my tweaking of the game to text tweaks...

    I think the original modification took the code from giving troops to Lords, but didn't provide the script for the farmer piece other than the below.

  5. SP Native Custom Commander v1.396 for Warband 1.165+ (source code included)

    One exclusive option within Custom Commander that I'd love to add to another mod, specifically Diplomacy, is the option to have all 16 NPCs start in the first inn.  The code that does this in menus.txt is:

  6. Suggestions

    Would be a nice touch, in addition to training the villagers as merely a quest, it actually upgraded a certain number of them to Watchmen.

    Another nice option would be to finance militia upgrades via your staff, like with patrols.  Option could be to train and/or upgrade the village militia.  When you do so, when they mobilize to defend themselves, could have a percentage that are better outfitted and perhaps upgraded troop lines.
  7. How to Split Party?

    I think the Caladria at War mod has an option to make a troop a party and then you can talk to them and add troops to them.  They then act like AI units and you can give them orders.

  8. Suggestions

    I posted a question on "how" to do this elsewhere at:  http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,124649.0.html and then realized it would be a decent suggestion.

    It would be good to have more control over your village farmers and caravans as their "Lord" or "Lady".

    Could be a few options. 

    Option 1:  Like the patrol options, you could assign additional guards to caravans.  You could select which city's caravans you'd upgrade and then have options (with varying prices) on how much you would increase the size of the caravan. 

    Option 2: You could speak to individual villager/caravan parties and give them additional troops from your own  forces.  There would likely be some need to have that cost you some money somewhere, which might be more complicated in this way.  I'd be willing to deal with it for "free" as it wouldn't break the game too much for me, but others may be concerned about the free aspect.

    Option 3:  Like option one but you could perhaps have patrols assigned to caravans/villagers instead of increasing the size of the party.  They wait outside a center until their designated caravan leaves and then follow it until it gets where it is going.  When it leaves again, they follow as well.

    then find a group of villagers travelling or a friendly caravan and give them a few troops to escort them.

    PS. You can take your soldiers back if you can catch the same group again later on.

    I was a mercenary working for Swadia and when I went to see the King for a job he said he heard rumors that commoners were running around undermining his authority and that he hoped they were doing so without my notice, or something of that nature.  I got no visible effect in relationship hits or any other measurement that I could see.

    Yes, happens every so often.  I think in my last playthrough I had 2 foreign Lords that showed up at my place looking for a job.  I hired them without much fuss.  I don't remember if there was any hit with their former bosses relationship with me.  This is essentially the defection that you often see happening, but I suppose if you've got enough right to rule and renown that you might be the target for their defection.
