Hopefully I've copied their posts succesfully.
We notice that according to Baki's information the changes in 2.012 vs 1.03b are that now:
1) Bodo likes Beda instead of Asbjorn
2 )and Reginhard dislikes Caio instead of Asbjorn.
However, Sir Mordred's (unfortunately not quite complete) info says otherwise: Bodo still likes Asbjorn and likewise Reginhard still dislikes Asbjorn and not Caio. In Sir Mordred's version the change from 1.03b is that now:
1) Egil likes Reginhard instead of Brunhild
hopefully both have started a new game under 2.012 as we have been told that the relationships are set when the campaign starts. But since the new information is contradictory they can't both be true unless they have been started under different post 1.03b versions of the game or in worst case the developers have made the dislikes (gasp) partly random.
The obvious corollary is that we still don't have good enough information to produce any maximal stable party listings for 2.012. Is there anyone out there who is skilled enough (and willing to spend the time) to reverse engineer the exact relationship info from the game text files? It was xyp's great reverse engineering work that originally made it possible to make these listings for Brytenwalda. As I don't have any time to play the game for a long long time, I'm not going to even try to do it myself.

Any party that is not stable is called unstable. A strictly stable party is a stable party whose all members have no one they dislike in the group (equal to condition 1 of stable party).
This system stems from the Brytenwalda mod, where it was noticed that being only disliked by other person (but not disliking that person back) had the same effect on person's morale as disliking the other person herself. So although dislikes might be asymmetrical they still have the same effect as normal warbands symmetrical dislikes, hence the definition of unwelcome above. Since nobody has verified whether likes are also in practice symmetrical, they were only counted when explicitly declared (i.e. only one way).
In your first party both Clovis and Solveig dislike Egil.
In your second party both Bodo and Morgant dislike Solveig.- Lohi-soturi

Röde Orm (the longships) is an rather old novel (I think it was from the forties), so the portrayal of women is still very old fashioned. It is now of course known that viking women had much more active role, not only as the ones who were in charge over the viking homes, their slaves and servants etc. while the men were on raids but also as warriors/settlers in their own right. I don't remember how women were portrayed in Anders Leopold's "Domen över död man" (a much younger book) so I guess the female characters were not very interesting there either.- Lohi-soturi

Oh, so "Röde Orm" is also available in English! At least the original was a very good read, very entertaining. Highly recommended, but of course I'm not familiar with the English translation.
I've read both Röde Orm (i.e. "the longships") and Domen över död man : en vikingaroman baserad på historiska fakta från den tidigaste vikingatiden och Nordens födelse about ten years ago in Swedish to maintain some (albeit very low) level of literacy in Swedish - it's a long time since I've learned Swedish in school. The latter was also a worthwhile read, but afaik only available in Swedish.
We all seem to agree that Cornwell's Saxon Chronicles are great fun.
And last, but not least: the sagas themselves are full of interesting stuff also!- Lohi-soturi

As a matter of fact: even if she is not present in the 8 member strictly stable parties, she is present at one of 9 member stable parties, albeit it's one with relatively many members with morale penalties. I had previously only played the storyline through but I've found new interest in VC with the reforged open beta and yesterday I decided to have a look at the sandbox mode.
Naturally I wanted to have stable party listings aswell for VC so today I had a look at the forum and found this thread.
I just took Ivan Khan's relationship matrix (great work! - hopefully I didn't add any typos) and fed it to my old program (which had produced the Brytenwalda stable party listings).
There is of course no guarantee that the morale system works the same as in bw, but here is the output anyway (terminology and methods as in my old Brytenwalda thread (http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,183844.0.html) ):

Unable to set sail
I've understood the 30-90 limit to apply to the sum of ALL persons onboard the ship (i.e. not only the permanent crew):
Code:30 <= (the crew assigned to the ship)+(your party)+(your prisoners)+(prisoners assigned to the ship) <= 90
if you are sure that the total number of persons onboard the ship is <=90 and still can't sail then it's definitely a bug...- Lohi-soturi

The thing is, even though the likes/dislikes are coded to be unilateral at least the dislikes still seem to cut both ways -the only real implication of the unilateral coding is that only one of the disliking pair will voice their dislike, the other will hate in silence...but still hate none the less. Therefore I decided to mirror any dislikes back when I redid the largest companion groups.
