Well, another bit of playing, and here are some comments/suggestions.

In a tavern, I met Lezalit.  However, when he introduced himself, the dialogue was as follows:
    "Lezalit :
"....Je me nomme Lazalet."  I guess the name was not translated properly...

Then I met Deshavi.  The intro screen on meeting her, my character says "...que vous n'avez pas beaucoup de chance."  I believe this was meant to be "you seem down on your luck."  A better translation might be "...que vous semblez avoir de la malchance."  Others may have better suggestions, however.

Also, after hiring her, she says "...je serai prêt à y aller."  Since Deshavi is female, it should be "... je serai prête à y aller."

I then went to the arena, and got into training bouts.  After beating 11 opponents and being knocked out, the arena master says "Tout le monde ne peut pas assommer 11 personnes au combat."  The proper translation should be "Ce n'est pas tout le monde qui peut assommer 11 personnes au combat." or "Très peu de gens peuvent assommer...."

In the city, when going to the market square, the option to return is "Retourner vers."  This makes no sense.  It should be either "Retourner vers city" or simply "Retourner".

During combat, when ordering troops to hold, the french version says "tout le monde, tenez cette position".  "tenez" is the wrong verb to use here.  Rather, it should be "gardez" or "maintenez".  Similarly, in the tactical screen, the column named "Tenir" should be "Maintenir" or"Garder" (not as good..)

After losing a combat, and being captured, Deshavi left the party.  In a tavern, I found her, and the dialogue was as follows :
"Que c'est bon de vous voir en vie, capitaine ! J'ai été capturée pour être échangée contre une rançon et moi-même ne savions pas si vous aviez été fait prisonnier, si vous aviez péri ou si vous aviez réussi à vous échapper."  Bolded text shows where the femine form of the verbs should be used.  The underlined section is simply wrong.  It should perhaps read "...je ne savais pas..."

Finally, after failing the quest to hunt an outlaw in a village, the lord who gave me the question says "Je suis attristé de voir que ce coureuse des remparts ne..."  Not sure what should be used here.  Perhaps "...que cette crapule ne..."

Lords presentations : "Je suis seigneur Klargus [We already mentionned that], vassal de Royaume de Swadia [should be "du"]. Et seigneur Suno [Should be "de Suno"]
All in one, I think that Ash' idea of "sire" instead of "seigneur has many merits :" Je suis Sire Klargus, vassal du Royaume de Swadia. Et seigneur de Suno"
This is the lord dialogue I meant as broken, but I had not written down...this should be one single sentence : "Je suis Sire Klargus, vassal du Royaume de Swadia et seigneur de Suno"

Another word that bothered me is "épéiste", which means a practitioner of modern fencing, not a soldier armed with a sword ... I do not know what to put in place, however ... "Homme d'armes mercenaire"? "Fantassin mercenaire" ?

This word also bothered me, so I did some looking around.  In fact, a sword specialist would be called "épéiste" whether we are talking about sport fencing or medieval swordfighting.  I think the word "épéiste" should therefore remain, as it better reflects the type of troop in the game.

    - "Javelin" is translated by "Angon", why not just by "Javelot" ?
    Or "Javeline"...

A "javeline" is simply a smaller form of the "javelot".  In M&B, there are javelins and jarids.  Perhaps "javelot" can be used for one, and "javeline" for the other.  Not knowing which of the javelin or jarid is larger and heavier, I can't say which should be which...

French Language Pack - Betatesters Report Here

Hi.  I started testing the french version, and here are my findings so far :

Similar to Sir Silver, the settings screen (Configurer) from launcher does not show accents.  Must be character coding.

I decided to try a female character, and noticed that, during character setup, some of the text is modified for female characters, but lots remains.  Same goes for much of the dialogues in-game, and some combat texts.  Going through each dialogue to see if they adapt to the gender could be a very time-consuming job...I'm not sure I want to volunteer doing it!  If I find lots of time, I will let you know.

When meeting the trainer, a tutorial (didacticiel) states that movement keys are ZQSD.  On qwerty keyboards, the movement keys remain WASD.  Perhaps the tutorial text could be linked to the Options keymap.

Under Reports (Rapports), the first item is Vérification du statut PNJ.  What is PNJ?

Under Character (Personnage), clicking on Statistics, the option to export a character has a typo : Exporter un persnnage (should be personnage).  Also, in skills, First Aid should be "Premiers soins", rather than "premiers secours".  The word "pistage" is also used.  I would like to verify what it is replacing, and get back...

In the Options meny, the Difficulty rating is translated as "Probabilité".  Should be "Niveau de difficulté".

I then went to Tihr, and spoke with Ramun.  There are a few grammar errors in the dialogue, though most is excellent.  After the initial speech from Ramun, when I asked him to explain how to capture prisoners, the first dialogue screen (Bon, je vais....)has 1 typo in the last sentence : ..pour les nobles.....être protéger (should be protégés).  In the second dialogue screen, (Et bien...), the start should be "Eh bien!...", and in the latter portion "..explique tout simplement pourquoi certaine personne libère.." should actually be "...certaines personnes libèrent..."

Prison guard dialogue : When no prisoners are present, guard states "Actuellement, aucune est emprisonné ici".  This should perhaps read "Actuellement, personne n'est emprisonné ici" if possible.

Dialogue with Lord also has errors ("Qu'est-ce que celà?" for "What is it?")  Should probably be "Que voulez-vous?"

Finally for today, some of the equipment modifiers should be available for plural forms (footwear and gloves).  "Gantelets rouillé" really doesn't work. (BTW, the modifier "rouillé" needs the (e), as does "fendu")  In weapons, the qualifier "réformé(e)" is used to replace "bent".  Perhaps what was meant is "déformé(e)".  The dagger is translated as "dagues"; this should be singular "dague".

    All for now

    Targus 说:
    Maintenant que j'ai pas mal batailler dans Lords and Realms, je reviens de nouveau sur cette question d'honneur;

    Bug reports for version 1.5

Well, I never got that far, but I expect what happened is you are now at peace with the Rhodoks, and there are probably some lords, caravans, peasants, or armies still alive.

IIRC, in order to eliminate a faction, all units from that faction, in addition to all castles, towns and villages, must be conquered.

I've noticed the same thing.  When I join a battle with allies, the total army on my side is never larger than my own army, although some troops belong to allies.  This can become very annoying when, for example, I join a battle of 400 v 300, then the battle screen comes up and it 94 v 300.  Very unbalanced during the battle, and yet the renown is very little...

So far Mount and Blade has really sucked...

Actually, it's genetic modifications and nano-technology making heroes, lords and the main character invulnerable to life-ending injuries.

Although set in medieval times, Calradia was visited by time-travellers in the recent past.

    See, no fantasy...

    Marshal, war and editor question

Q.1 I believe Danath answered that part of your post:

    Danath 说:
Btw, I think your relations with the Lords affects how much time they keep on your side, not that I have fully tested this.

I also think relations affect how long a lord will follow you.  I know it affects battles, i.e., a lord who dislikes you will not participate in a battle you initiate, although he may stick around.  There might also be (and I'm guessing here) some interaction between various lords, which would make one leave when another joins.

Q.2 After a while (don't know how long), lords from a defeated faction will begin to join other factions.  Of course for this to happen, there have to be no towns, castles, villages, armies, farmers or caravans from the defeated faction left.

Q.3 Sorry, can't help you on edit mode.  There is probably a thread in the forums on that, just Search.
