I'm having the same issue i think, but not sure only the wage-reducing factors are the problem. It is quite the difference. I limited everything on 2k and have the Auto Recruitment, still the garrison size stagnating, even remove the manually added units.
ya it kind of sucks when you're wanting to play a ground unit player out the gate. You pretty much are forced into tourneys until your athletics gets to 30 which you can take the speed boost.
Yeah melee cavalary is kinda useless now. They can't aim properly and the trust damage is low too. They should have do something with the speed bonus. And of course melee unit with hammer and sickle can hit your head and neck when you are on horse...
At the beginning of the game every Looter/advanced barbarian unit are way faster than i am (even with nearly same army size). Is this how it suppose to work? There is no way i can buy horses so early in the game.
I got negative security bonus for garrison units, when the city/keep has a different culture than me. Is this how it suppose to work? I even tried to match the defending troops culture to the city culture with native governor.
Yeah the AI is a bit lacking and to be honest, even when the charges do go where you want them to, they lack impact. I have given up on them fixing these issues in Native and hoping to see some good fixes come out of mods once the game releases.
I actually like this horse upgrade stuff. But we should get the horse back of a dead troop or just give the towns and (horse breeding) settlements more horse with a bit reduced prices.
