Found a bug going to the arena at ashford.

I spawned in the wall in the middle right and ran out of the wall into the arena itself.

I do not know enough of the lore of the lands in Essos to know what are good trade goods for the area, but exotic goods come to mind. As the lands are close to the unknown east of magic and strange creatures, it would be fitting that trade goods such as tile and fine cloth are used. Anything that's expensive and rare to fine in Westoros would be wise, with a high demand for goods produced in the extreme north such as fur and high demand also for goods unable to be produced locally such as fish. The important thing to keep in mind with the trade in these areas is that the distance should effectively boost the price of foreign goods disproportionately compared to closely bordering cities in Westoros. A journey made in Westoros that takes but a single day should be profitable but not by much. A journey taking up to a week from Westoros to the East areas of Essos should be lucrative. Villages should receive a similar treatment, but with a very small amount of lucrative goods produced and perhaps even then produced only 50% or so of the time. I've effectively zero knowledge on the game mechanics under the hood regarding trade so I don't know if this is possible though.

One thing I've noticed on a new playthrough is that it isn't worth buying stone in the Quarry in Essos. The price should be much cheaper as the current value of 100 silver stags for one stone is for most places a net loss. A quarry of all places should be the cheapest place to buy the stone. It is balanced by stone being very heavy. During this playthrough a full load of iron and stone from the north to Bravvos and further, slowed by character to a speed of about 2.5 in daytime which is the cost of carrying it. I felt quite vulnerable to bandits and the like but thankfully was not caught.

A further recommendation I would make on Essos is that the spawning of bandits, raiders, dothraki and other miscreants be increased. The vast spaces without civilisation should give the land a Steppe theme, where its dangerous but very profitable on trade. Essos, especially the distant East is a land shrouded in mystery where few travel and the very real threat of Dragons or spooky creatures puts most off from venturing there. In the current version, its very empty with few parties of any kind seen across the land.

    Hello Produno,

I have greatly enjoyed this mod and I congratulate you on your stellar work so far. I am posting to report a game breaking bug I've encountered and to add some constructive criticism.

    1) A quest triggered in the south western island city, the arbor or something caused a man and his raiders who's name begins with D to chase me around. This was fine, he even caught me once. However when I travelled to sisterton I got caught outside. When released I'm instantly captured again as I spawn at his location, over and over again forever. It's not possible to progress in the game for me at this point, I cannot beat that army alone.

    2) I travelled across to Essos to the far reaches of the world looking for trade. However there appears to be no great focus of trade in the distant reaches. This means trade missions between the distant lands is pointless, in fact I had extremely profitable journeys between Dragonstone and Sunspear. Trade with all of the far east cities was medicore at absolute best. As such I strongly recommend you assign specialist trade goods at cheap prices to those areas with a corresponding demand of other goods produced in Westoros. This would greatly improve the mod's trade system and give the far east a greater reason to venture to.

Okay fidgety, you reserve skirmishers for your regiment.

Out of curiosity what happened to No35?
  5. NW Completed RCI's Naval Wednesday Battle Event

The royal scots would like to sign ourselves up for the event.

I can bring 10 men to act as ship defenders:

royal scots / 10 men / ship defenders

I assume you're using a custom map for the battle?

Okay I have you all noted down and on my list for the event.

New week begins here. Remember to reserve stuff like skirmishers well in advance. Every week there is at least one regiment I have to tell to pick a different class in order to preserve balance.

I am open to suggestions for different map types and faction choices. I thought today's france vs rebels game was interesting.

  8. Command Battle Tactics

I have commanded several 10 vs 10 regimental commander battles. They are as good as you think.

General tips for setting up the battle:

    1) Put skirmishers in front to skirmish just in front of the main line. Don't send them far away, they'll get slaughtered.
    2) Keep a solid line of infantry spread out wide across as far as you can go to minimise casualties.
    3) Have arty close behind the main line, targeting any cluster of enemies visible.
    4) Use cavalry as a mobile reserve force kept out of sight of the enemy.
    5) Position yourself in the centre to observe the battle.

If the enemy send cav, square up the infantry in the area and focus artillery. Send cav to support as necessary.

Infantry units advancing will be cut down if you hold a solid line. Use the cav to hit them when their numbers get low, especially if they're spread out.

If the enemy starts making it difficult or flanks fall back around the arty and keep those guns going. The arty only helps you if it can fire over the course of the battle otherwise infantry are superior.

I do not recommend making a charge until low on ammo or you have superior numbers.

    I recommend a set up of 2 art, 2 cav, 2 skirmishers and 4 line/guard.

Just make sure to use your common sense through the battle. Isolated artillery should have cav knock it out etc.

That's nice, I'm still literally higher than you on the battlefield.
  13. Royal Scots Regiment of Foot (Part of the Royal Scots Gaming Community)

My rank is sergeant major not colonel.

    Makes me slightly less unrealistic.

    Slightly.

Just make sure to post in this thread each week first for cavalry. If you post here, you reserve a spot. First come first serve.
