  1. Bow balance suggestion.

I haven't played m&b since the release of fire & sword. The reason i stopped playing was that they destroyed the bow completely. Even at great skill the bow was just terrible. After reading the post above mine i see that he mentions that they buffed the bow - how is it now?
  2. The bow change a while back...

I cant believe something small like the bow change totally changed the gaming experience for me playing m&b. Back before the bow change i used to play m&b for hours every day, all kinds of ways. With the bow change i just lost the interest in playing the game. I know its silly but that is how it...
  3. I think that 99% of warband players agree on this!

You dont get to rush patches mate. They get released when they're done. The thing of course with a game like this is that they're never done! You're forced to iron a patch out until it adds as little new bugs as possible to the game. As far as ive seen tho this patch dont really add any game changing changes. So... whats with the rush?
  4. Archer's Guide

The accuracy depends on the accuracy modifier alone. Raising it increases the accuracy up to a point where it all of the sudden inverts itself. The same goes by lowering the accuracy, which is what happens with more powerful bows.
  5. Post your ugly players here!!! ex... Gnjus

    Some really hilarious faces here.
  6. bow accuracy

Even at 400+ skill the war bow is quite inaccurate. Kinda feels like using it all your shots are based purely on RNG. I almost recommend picking a smaller bow and go for the heads its far more effective than using a bigger bow.
  7. Archer's Guide

I just wanted to add that there is a *huge* difference in accuracy between a small bow and a big one. Not sure if this is really intended in the game however. The small bow has a perfect aim even at GREAT distances. The biggest bow has a HORRIBLE aim at any range compared to the small one. Even at great bow skills (400+) its quite pathetic. Back in vanilla you could as a MASTER archer standing on the ground hit an enemy at great distance on a wall using the biggest bow(war bow). However in warbands if you use the war bow at a great distance, such as attacking archers on the wall from the ground it all becomes too much of a gamble all of the sudden. The aim is terrible and all your shots are just based on RNG. I dont see the reason for this at all and makes archery with a big bow as a master archer pathetic and somewhat useless imo.

Now i dont know how good the archers were back in the days but i assume there were some pretty damn good ones considering it was their job. I was watching discovery channel a while back where a professionally trained archer showed how good the long bows were. He could hit a haystack with that thing on a impressive range(longer than in game). He also showed the arrows they had back in the days to "penetrate" heavier armor and how effective they were. But enough of that.

It just seems like something changed from vanilla->warbands and the bows/accuracy. To the worse.

What just caught my attention was that with this great skill in archery my character had during sieges it was just based on RNG reticule in the end and not my "archery" skill if i were to hit something or not. I know that the bow takes strength to pull back but it has nothing to do with it since the reticule starts spread out, unlike a smaller bow where it starts pretty darn centered. I wouldnt be surprised if it all has to do with the PvP... typical mythic/blizz take that affects the entire game for one small aspect of the game?

Aye, everything seems to work fine, took the wages and lowered them to an hour, works. Took the bandit respawn to one hour, seems to work as well. The food timer works too.

Thanks for all the effort and hard work you've put into this tool.

<edit> Okay something really odd happened. I launched the tool again to reset the changes ive made and all of the sudden all the options that were grayed out were grayed out... again. This was just weird.

    Tweaks.PartySize.PayTroopsTimer, 1,000000, 29, 29, True
    Tweaks.EnemyLordEscapeCaptureRates.CheckInterval, 48,000000, 36, 36, True
    Tweaks.FoodConsumption.EatingInterval, 1,000000, 138, 138, True
    Tweaks.Prisoners.PrionserLordRansomTimer, 24,000000, 42, 42, True
    Tweaks.BanditPartySizes.SpawnTime, 1,000000, 5, 5, True
    Tweaks.ImprovementEffects.SchoolRelationGainInterval, 1,000000, 32, 32, True
    ^- Test tool #2
I wonder what happened, it work fine for 1-2 runs and now its back to the "grayed" out again

<edit> Sorry for all the edits but apparently tool test #1 shows the options non-grayed out however tool #2 shows them grayed out now. Its like they've switched. Hope it make any sense to you what is going on. Ill post the "help" from tool #1.

    Tweaks.PartySize.PayTroopsTimer, 1,000000, 29, 29, True
    Tweaks.EnemyLordEscapeCaptureRates.CheckInterval, 48,000000, 36, 36, True
    Tweaks.FoodConsumption.EatingInterval, 1,000000, 138, 138, True
    Tweaks.Prisoners.PrionserLordRansomTimer, 24,000000, 42, 42, True
    Tweaks.BanditPartySizes.SpawnTime, 1,000000, 5, 5, True
    Tweaks.ImprovementEffects.SchoolRelationGainInterval, 1,000000, 32, 32, True
    ^- Test tool #1

<edit> Last edit i promise, i just wanted to add that right now the regular tool works fine. I assume that tool #2 did something to maybe correct the "errors" but apparently broke it down so it couldnt read the changes any longer? So right now tool test #1 and regular tool works.

Tool number 2 works, all the grayed out options were now accessible. Awesome!

Tool number 1 didnt work tho, but im glad number 2 did

    Thanks for awesome support.

Ill try be a little more helpful this time. Ive gone through the different options in the tool and will write down the ones that are "grayed" out. I did notice a few more, which might give a better idea what could be wrong. Please note this is a totally unmodified version of the game, basically a clean install of 1.113 full download from tale worlds site.

Food Consumption - How often your party eats, in hours - Grayed out
Bandit Parties - Number of hours for a bandit party to respawn - Grayed out, as we all know now
Your Party - How often you pay your troops - This one is grayed out too.
Enemy Lord Escape Rates - How often a lord will attempt to escape - This one is grayed out.
Prisoner Management Tools - How often the game checks for a ransom offer - This too is grayed out.
Improvements - How often relation bonus is applied - This one is grayed out too.

The ones i could see that didnt have a red text so i assume they should be working. The interesting thing here is that they all seem to be bound to timed event. Then again a few things that are similar arent grayed out.

    36.000000  1 1 1 936748722493063571
Found it. Odd that the tool doesnt find it.

I downloaded 1.113(full install) from the site just to be sure i really had the latest build. The thing is, the bandit respawn is still grayed out. Would someone please explain what is going on here?

    Are you modding Native?

No mods or anything, not even a change in any file. A clean install of 1.113, start tool and the bandit respawn is grayed out. Got the install directly from taleworlds site from their server. So yeah, i find it very weird that i cant see the bandit respawn timer

Anyone that can post a link to their unmodified simple_triggers.txt v1.113? I just want to see what the difference is because my bandit respawn is still grayed out for some weird reason.

Huldu - sorry for the late reply.  I got your email, but I must have forgotten to respond to it.  I loaded up your file, and the tweaks all worked fine for me.  You may have the same simple_triggers issue that Cabola had earlier (which I unfortunately have no idea how to fix or what causes it).  Out of curiosity, are the other simple_triggers tweaks disabled for you?  This would be things like how often troops eat, enemy lord escape chances, how often you pay your troops, hours to read a book, fief income tweaks, how often the school bonus is applied, etc.

No, everything else works fine, its just that one being grayed out, which is a shame.
