  1. Prophesy of Pendor vs Bannerlord

For the player, if an NPC could train say "Vlandian Sappers" then the player could promote troops into that form. This is allowed primarily because we are no longer limited by a 2 path upgrade system in Bannerlord. I have experimented and tested with up to 5 possible upgrade paths per unit and with different levels.

For NPC's either use location or clan based conditionals in order to train specific Specialty troops.
This is also what I'm dreaming about, and I believe could make some combinations with other mechanics which are boring now.

Such as the NPC training ability you mentioned. How about set some permenant unique NPC heroes/-ines, besides those randomly spawned generic tavern companions, and let these heroes offer more possibilities? Like story-quest lines and individual special ablitities such as training exlusive troops. For example a former domisticus of the scholae with extremely high levels of Tactics and Leadership, who will unlock the recruitment of elite scholae troops to owner of the imperial capital(s). Well I think actually Istiana and her male counterpart have already had such pontetials.

And rather than have so many duplicated "+0.5 Militia everyday" perks, how about say a Crossbow skill perk enables you to train/convert a stronger variation of militia crossbowman? I think this will bring more fun to character building.
  2. Prophesy of Pendor vs Bannerlord

The classic Fantasy vs Historical debate aside, about the military order things, I may suggest something similar can be done in BL lore-friendly: remove some top-class troops from regular cultural troop trees, instead make them clan- or location-exclusive.

Such as take bucellarii and elite cataphracts out from the regular empire troop-tree, instead add a Scholae Corps which includes Hippotoxotai and Klibanaphoroi, but only loyal to their chosen claimant. Take out the sharpshooters and Voulgier/pikeman and make them only available to southern republican cities like Charas and Sargot. Give the Aserai Sultan his royal Mamluks and Khassaki(tier 6) and let the other Aserai clans be satisfied with tribesmen and Faris(remove the tier 6 Vanguard).

That should also make each culture feels more unique, not allow one kingdom has a more or less complete troop tree.
  3. Hunting and why it should be in game

If you want a royal hunt, why not go the whole hog? Kings have died from hunting accidents/assassinations.
I'd hate to just get feasts back renamed royal hunts with no noble blood.
Friend I believe I do mentioned "events chain...including various accidents, such as a conspiracious ambush against VIP, initiating a small scaled battle in civilian outfits." Say you decide to kill the king, you firstly choose to accompany the king, then try to find a chance to assult him when he is far away from other nobles. You could also try to cause accidents as scouts leader by driving some dangerous quarry to your target if your have high enough scout level to win this role. Or if your are good at stewardship, apply for the role of feast organizer and manage to poison the target.
Could of course be many other stories, such as NPC nobles plots agianst themselves or the pc, based on condition setting. It's after all just events consisted by text + pictures and some options, but should be not boring (iirc already more meaty than hunting event in CK3).
  4. Hunting and why it should be in game

Yes that's exactly what I have in mind.
Tournaments, feasts and hunts, I guess people keep refering to these and other features and how they were implemented in WB (honestly I don't think WB has done them very well), not because “the good old Warband has them”, but because these are just something a medieval-ish kingdom game could have, if not should have, for the sake of content enrichment and immersion enhancement. You will encounter such events from strategy games like Crusader Kings to fantasy RPGs like The Witcher.
Also I couldn't see anything bad to ask for them being introduced into BL. More details and impacts of tournaments or a hunting events-chain with multi branches as I described above should not be super heavy at all to implement. If BL did not fulfill our expectation, it's definitely not because part of players keep talking about some "trivial bland dull WB feature"🤣
See now this guy gets it. People keep complaining about "why do you want that trivial bland dull feature back from Warband...?" -we dont want it back, we want it expanded upon. Imagine Grand Tournmants with really loud crowds, an introduction from the King, Horns blaring when Gladiators fall, Reputations rising and falling, chicks swooning over the Champions etc... and Lords remembering all of this after the fact -like in Warband..hatred and jealousy being built by rivals. This really aint ll that hard just requires a commitment to bettering the RPG/Strategy aspect of the game rather than just "a sprinkling of a strategy game added"

Oh and who thought Tourney prizes like "Fleece Slippers" was a good idea..?
  5. Hunting and why it should be in game

Hunting had also the function of military training, maybe in the game it could be used to level-up combat skills, thus making it more attractive, although not funner. Just like we normally fight the bandits for xp and money, hunting animals could give more xp and less money, so adds some variety.

As for the hunting event hosted by noble houses, it may could be implemented as sort of events chain, starting from say the monarch invites vassals to assemble at certain hunting area. Then the participating nobles claim or are assigned different roles, e.g. lead the scouts, company the king, coordinate hunting teams, command one hunting team, and stuff, their level of corresponding skills will make impacts on the hunting process.
And then come several story branches, including various accidents, such as a conspiracious ambush against VIP, initiating a small scaled battle in civilian outfits. Or the scouts find an exordinary game, which if you managed to kill (perhaps by a skills check plus some RNG), will grant you a special bounty(sadly, we don't have such things yet in Bannerlord). If the hunt ends successfully, everyone participated could gains a few skill levels, determined by their roles, and some relation improvements.
