  1. Ale and wine?

Explains a lot about Borcha's aiming anyway.
  2. Text Logs

Try playing Storymod and you'll see how much you forget once quests get going
  3. Follow Me Into Battle!

This would combine well with the idea of setting your troops' starting positions that gets mentioned a lot, which would give you an idea of the terrain anyway.
  4. Are you sure you want to quit without saving?

Or you could be a man and play "no quitting without saving"

You can also enable cheats and then ctrl+click on the map where you want to be teleported. That way you can at least eliminate travelling from getting rid of your goods.  To be honest though, by the time I've ever got to a stage where the loot from my enemies is such high value that I don't want to leave any of it I already have a massive fortune and all the equipment I could possibly want, so I'm not sure what the appeal of getting even more gold is.

Horses definitely need to be able to breath fire.

    3. Stop looting. It seems to become a major portion of the game. You fight, loot, buy better gear. But really, all it amounts to is carrying a load of weapons back to town every 1-3 fights. My suggestion would be to reduce the selling price of looted items drastically, then give the player more cash for winning battles. It will add up to the same result, but without forcing the player to travel back to town. This will also allow more items to be available for the player on the loot screen. If selling them is almost pointless, he just takes what he may want to use.

Don't get me wrong. Looting can be fun, in certain situations. Caravans should be looted. In fact, I would love to see more of this type of looting. Caravans shipping extremely valuable items, with very tough guards. Currently, you can make more cash by selling the weapons of the caravan guards than by selling the items the caravan was shipping.

Maybe, but if you find yourself constantly inconvenienced by returning to town (and really, it's not that arduous), start taking only high value items and increase your inventory management skill.  There's a war going on, so I can't see why second-hand items wouldn't be valued by merchants.

    two words: Virtual Reality
Go join the SCA/ARMA/Whatever medieval combat recreation group is near you.

    Real Reality > Virtual Reality

You mean pretend real reality is better than real pretend reality, or did you mean it's better to pretend to be pretending to be real than being real about really pretending?

    My mind is boggling
  9. wtf.....UPDATES?!?

If he's getting worried about $20 not buying him more than two months of entertainment then maybe he needs to leave his mother's basement and get into the real world, with you know bills and rent

Ragdoll. You can now enter Marnid or Borcha in the food slot, with a slight chance of turning your whole army into bloodthirsty cannibals, adding new "eat" option to peasant encounters. More detailed damage model, with few

    I find cannibalism a non-funny-very-stupid idea.

This thread is very serious business remember.

Ooh yeah, navel elements would be great, the lack of detail on my character's bare chest is really annoying.

  14. Impressions from Our Visit to Ikisoft (a.k.a. Taleworlds)

I have to wonder why people are so upset that formations aren't on the cards.  As far as I can recall, when I first heard about Mount&Blade there was no mention of it being a super-realistic medieval warfare simulation, or a vehicle for fans to design a game vicariously through Armagan.  All I knew was that it was a lot of fun and was different to the vast majority of other games like it because it didn't have magic and it did have horses.  And hey it was true, it's a lot of fun and I still enjoy playing it over a year after I got it for precisely those reasons.  If what really attracted you to the game was the tactics and formations then maybe you should be playing something like Total War.  Personally, I'd rather be roleplaying an adventurer right in the thick of battle than a general standing off to the side and watching other people do my work.  Heck I'm just stoked that the AI is going to be updated to help my men work together.  In a small-scale game like this what more could you want?
  15. Dark Ages of Calradia

I realise it probably doesn't mean much this far in but I just want to say I really like the sound of this mod and I can't wait till it comes out :>
