You could just add a shield into the item pool that some troops would have. Not all of them.

However I would suggest it be something like a wicker shield. Able to withstand one blow by sword or several arrows.

It makes sense to have a few shields dotted around as the peasants did used to make and use makeshift shields. Because their lordship very rarely provided them with good equipment.

Always loved freelancer. Would be good to be given command over infantry if you max out the troop tree. or archers/cavalry respectively

What bearing does that have on anything. It's not as if you're a dev. It just means you were born earlier. You just sound more or a **** now if you think that's important.

Yeah I would actually love to play the freaking game and experience those other bugs, crashes and problems. That is all I'm asking for.

The game quite literally doesn't work for me.
I cannot get past the loading screen.
I won't go into the details but I tried everything I could to fix it, and hence I believe something is wrong with the code.
There are other people with the same issue and same error log as myself.

Quoting me does not make me ashamed for telling you shut up. Out of every bug post I have seen on the forum yours are the most consistently disrespectful and unhelpful to the developers.

All the developers need are indepth bug reports. What they don't need is how you act.
You constantly @ the community manager trying to get his attention when it isn't even his job to deal with bug reports. Imagine how annoying you are. Imagine having to deal with someone like you when you are at work. That is why I reply to you and only you in the manner that I do.

But I do agree. There are bugs in the game. But that's what this process is for...

I don't understand why people are kicking off so much about it. Just post a bug report and read change logs. We all knew the game was going to be unbalanced and buggy. Warband wasn't perfect. Very few AAA games are bug free on release, and this isn't a AAA game

And have already released 3 fixes for a brand new game? In early access. Which you bought into knowing the risks.
The game has many problems. Not just the one you are experiencing. Although I suppose if you could play the game you would know that.

I would say I am sorry your game doesn't work but in reality the way you are acting makes me think you deserve it.

Are you so dim that you think they will just leave it? I don't think you are. You're just angry and complaining online.

They already have acknowledged you. They are aware of this issue. You're acting like a spoilt brat. The game is early access. Things like this happen.

You want a fix which is understandable but fixes for errors like this do not happen over night. Maybe stop flaming one of the most dedicated developement teams there is and just be grateful they are working on it for you.

I think they should have a similar feature to warband. That feature works. But only to a small extent.

For instance, Allow them to recruit a veteran core of around 20 soldiers and then recruit normal peasant trash like the rest of us

The launcher remains the same version however in mods drop down you should see version 1.0.2

Also everyone understands your frustration but kicking off about it in the forums and making an ass out of yourself doesn't achieve anything. The devs are more than likely well aware of your predicament. And like you have rightly said it is no easy fix. But you aren't helping them.

But by all means vent and make yourself feel better. But the devs are probably working right now to fix your issue.

I have had AI use a pincer attack on m multiple times to great effect.

I think it really depends on the amount of troops they have to be honest. because a small band of troops can't really perform many tactics other than form a loose line.

I tend not to get involved in forum discussions and have just made an account to reply to this thread.

It has not event been 12 hours since release. I have been playing 8 or 9 hours. I have hundreds and thousands of hours on warband. And I can only say to you that I disagree with you on every point.

This game is the game warband wants to be in my opinion. It takes everything to the next level. The warband we all know and love had years and years of post release development and tweaking. What this team have achieved for an EARLY ACCESS title is outstanding and I truly am excited to see what happens.

The game play is slow but honestly it should be. With some skill and good luck you can get to be a noble within a couple of hours. Especially if you just cheese it.
If it is too hard for you then lower the difficulty. But do not come onto the forums trashing years of hard work by a very loyal and dedicated team. You know what you're signing up for in an early access title. There has been very little testing done on the campaign map. Thats what this is for. In one single hour of early access they will have had more testing done on the campaign map than they would have done privately in house.

This is part of the balancing process.

Also upgrade your potato. No issues here.
