  1. 1/20th?! Donating Prisoners is WORTHLESS NOW?

TBH I feel donating prisoners as the primary source of influence is kind of silly. Still I think that a major nerf should be accompanied by a buff in the sources of influence that the devs want to be the primary source.

Also I definitely agree that mercenary contracts need a buff right now. Right now it's more like charity work than mercenary work!
  2. "Whole Seller" perk no longer working on Beta.

I can also confirm that it does not seem to work anymore. The color coding of items relative to their average price that appears in the mouse-over window still works though so at least that can be used to gauge whether it's worthwhile buying / selling, providing you always buy when green (under average).
  3. If the devs wanted to make changes to the campaign map, are you ok with that? POLL

I actually really like how these balance issues are related to the deep economy simulation and not just some badly tuned numbers. Makes me very excited about the possibilities of this game.
  4. Is this game feature complete?

I'm pretty sure it's far from feature complete. It has the skeleton in good working order but needs a lot more meat.
  5. PSA: Perks are getting "updated/reworked"

It's a shame we have to find this information deep in forum replies rather than as a nice roadmap. Just think about how constructive our criticisms would be if we had some glimpse into the dev's plans for the future.
  6. Poll: create a complaint channel for all these whiners

Can we create a meta-whiners channel also, where whiners who are whining about people whining can do so elsewhere? I hate having to browse past a million posts of complaints about complaints.
  7. Leveling is cringe-worthy

I hope they go back to warband system because grinding sucks and having every character the same also sucks.

I personally much prefer the level-through-use system, it is so much more organic. The whole points-based system is an anachronism dating from tabletop RPGs as far as I'm concerned. The problem is that people who grind spoil it for everyone. Some kid spends 5 hours continuously grinding and becomes a god, prompting a knee-jerk nerf from the devs who don't want you to become OP in such a short amount of time. Now everyone is forced to grind in order to make progress.

Edit: I should add what I would like to see: remove focus points and attributes entirely. Make every skill have an independent xp curve that makes it progressively harder to progress in that particular skill, but doesn't affect others.

Edit2: also, remove perk choices and just grant all perks automatically as you level the skill.
  8. BUG BETA Trade in 1.3 is borked.

I've noticed that it is very rare to get good prices for selling things in villages. Towns don't seem to be obviously different.
  9. peaking endgame too early mabey?

    Holy run-on sentences Batman!
  10. Patch Notes e1.1.2 & Beta Hotfix

AI was almost perfect on release. Hard enough to give you a challenge, predictable enough to give you an easy win if that is what you want. A mod or two to give an AI a bit more reaction and awareness, and we'd have an ideal opponent.
As to the complete newb - well, there is a difficulty slider AND damage slider. Can't handle something? Just turn on easy mode.
Right now even the hardest possible opponent on max difficulty settings can't compete with a mere naked peasant on 1.0 ver.

What difficulty setting affects the skill of troops? Reducing damage is not the same thing.
  11. Fix the Economy by Removing Pack Animals and Bring Back Inventory Management

Please no, I hated inventory managing in WB; BL makes trade and looting so much more enjoyable. Why not just give us more things we can spend money on? For example, we could throw feasts for our men or for allied lords; pay for hired agents that act on our behalf in the world (eg spies and informants, trade factors, etc); commission art pieces for gifts; sponsor bards to follow us around (toss a coin to your clansman, o valley of plenty!); pay for infrastructure improvements to improve prosperity of our lands (roads, mills, mines); pay for tutors for our children to improve their skills; hire local patrols to keep bandits down. So many potential ideas.

Focusing the entire game on grinding to pay for troop maintenance is really boring.
  12. "Mount and Blade" more like "Pitchfork and Sickle"

+1 for training camps and trainer skills. It's completely unrealistic to have to genocide legions of bandits in order to grind up soldiers for a garrison. IRL virtually all combat experience would come through training.
  13. How long do your caravans last on e1.2.0 and e1.1.0?

Literally just described workshops. Cheaper, Provide no risk income.

Number of workshops is too small IMO. I have 3 workshops and it covers my party of 70-odd soldiers with some small amount to spare, but will be pittance if I need to maintain garrisons or secondary parties. If they got rid of the cap on workshops then it becomes a real choice between a safe, low-profit option and a risky, high return option, rather than being forced to use caravans because of some artificial cap.
  14. (Vote included) New update and the caravan remains 30. And it was claimed it get supported

But that is a pointless test to run. It has nothing to do with how the game progression works. You do not start with gold for 3 caravans nor the gold for the companions to run them. If you loose one you still make the money with the two other ones.

How long does it take to grind from 0 to 18k + companion gold in real game time?
Then you loose it before it has even made back the investment. Zero profit and zero progression. All that time grinding to 18k wasted and your progression to mid game when you can start taking castles set back by hours.
No one in their right mind would take that risk considering the real life hours it takes to get the gold to have one caravan only to loose it and having to disband your army as you can't afford it anymore and have to start the grind to 18k again.

Agreed, 18k is too much to lose until you are very well established.
  15. (Vote included) New update and the caravan remains 30. And it was claimed it get supported

In total I formed 4 caravans.

Thank you for the communication, this kind of discussion with the community is what makes EA worth the effort. Could I suggest that you try with larger statistics than just 4, it is very difficult to form reliable conclusions from such small numbers. With a decent collection of savegames at several states of the game, and say 100 tests we could better gauge the profitability.
