That mod is glorious ! Currently, players have too many advantages in that we can pick off AI's piece meal by engaging small parties while larger ones are too far away to join. At the same time, the AI doesn't seem to know the difference between the player and other AI parties, meaning that small parties will sometimes throw themselves at the player in order to stop them from running away, without realizing that in contrast to a pure AI fight, their allies will not be able to join them agains the player.
I had a battle that i start 98 vs 70 and didn't realize that his reinforcements were enroute.
Longest battle i ever had, slowly exchanging missiles until his reinforcements joined and now they were 120, crossed the river and i won but was hanging by a thread.
Or fighting an Aserai 150+- band holding in a shield wall untill an allied army of 600 arrived.. the rest is history.
Honestly i'm totally fine with sacrificing realism for gameplay and fun, in the end of the day it's a video game and fun is the desired result.
The siege tower in M&B Warband are fine, and actually a lot better and probably would've been easier to avoid all this weird pushing around since they have a lot more staging area.
Hell even single units that carry single ladders like in "Medieval Total War" would've been better, or as an addition.
Right now there are just too many issues with the main aspect of the game which is combat.
Especially during sieges.
Even a small option like speeding up time which you can after you die, is missing so fighting every looter gang is a chore.
I am using "BannerLord Tweaks" which allows you to do just that, so i really don't care that i need to fight each looter gang, i just tell my guys to charge and it's over in a second and usually without BS losses like losing a Sergeant At Arms with a band of 60 vs 8 looters.
Or for an example i had a massive fight in the mountain pass map, our cavarly went in first even though we were defending.
After they were depleted we basically were waiting for the enemy to attack us, we were defending a Sturgian Caravan by accident (Playing as Vlandia).
That battle took me 24 minutes, and i saved like another 20 minutes by speeding up time while the enemy AI was slowly limping towards us.
Even if the AI pathing was fine and was a lot more decisive, it takes forever to close some distance while holding proper formation.
I don't see why as a player i don't have an implemented option to speed up the game on demand.
I can't imagine myself moving to newer build without some of these QoL mods. :'(
