I can verify.
If you receive a message in the Cave about Bodo having received enough blows and being semi-conscious, he will not talk to you after you defeat all the enemies (including Atli).
If you do not receive a message, and Bodo cheers once you've killed all the enemies, he will then approach you and initiate the dialogue that allows the quest to move forward. Crappy quest triggers, imo, but this is the way you can advance forward.
I advise anyone who wants to do the main storyline to play a game without the autosave function. It's really too buggy right now to risk it.
