    Addendum 2 - Not really a part of this but if anyone is reading this in the future I just figured I'd put this in here. Save yourself a ton of frustration and edit the capture rate for enemy lords and the recruitment from villages. The game is currently flawed in the design and forces you to engage in boring, repetitive, and time wasting behavior by making lords escape 60% of the time and by making it so half the time you go to one of your villages it has troops you don't f'ing want. Fix it now and save yourself the misery.

  3. Strategy for assigning fiefs to vassals?

    My strategy has always been to keep the cities for myself, give the castles to Lords (1 per, as I accumulate Lords).  That way the castles get free garrisons.  My cities probably could be given away, but I kind of like the idea that as King, I own cities.

    I give towns associated to the cities to Lords who have relatively low loyalty to boost it.

    other than that, my strategy is to keep Lords with the civilization type that they came from (Sarleon with Sarleon, etc).
  4. Read.me for the newbies and lazies

    Wow.

    You would almost think that we forum regulars are arrogant and don't want to "waste our time" with "NOOBS" or "lazies" who might be:
    1) young,
    2) inexperienced, or
    3) excited about POP!

    Good thing Saxodragon appears to want these kind of people playing his mod or all we would ever hear is "go find it in the wiki" or "I wrote about this back in POP 1.011, so go find it in an old thread".

    Heck, if YOU don't feel like answering their post, dont.

    That will keep the forum from getting clogged up with threads like this one.  :grin:

    Guys,
    thanks for the help.  Abyss and others recommend in my menu.txt thread an re-install (saved game will be elsewhere) so that is what I will do... next week when my pregnant wife lets me :oops:

  6. Need Help with menu.txt info

    Thanks guys.

    I guess reinstall it is.  I had extracted the menu.txt from POP2 install, and now I can play, but upon beating a party it says
    "You are at (snake cult, or whoever I beat) camp."  I then have the option to manage the camp or leave.  If I leave, they escape with 0/ howmany they were (eg 0/71 plus 25 prisoners).  On the flip side, if I manage them I can transfer them directly into my party!

    Weird... and almost game breaking.

    So much for no backup.  You'd think I'd know better at 36 years old, but I was in a hurry.

    You're right, it was my third post.

    Seeing I have been a member for a few years, humor me.

    Other than that, 1st--made my own thread, 2nd put a request in on the stickied "support thread", 3rd--said something here where the tweeks thread was recommended that I used to derail my menu.txt file.

    Sounds pretty reasonable to me, seeing POP no longer works for me...

    Thanks for your (rather useless) 2 cents, though.  :?:

    I tried a Magelord tweek http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,46290.msg1270097.html#msg1270097  to allow me to attack friendly factions (to hit the Noldor lord even though I have positive relations).

    Didn't back up file.

    I was sent the 10 lines of numbers following the word "mno_encounter_attack" in the menu.txt found in Mount&Blade/Data/Modules/Prophesy of Pendor 2 to recreat the file lines I had modified.

    Even with the menu.txt lines from SCGavin (thanks!)... I now get a script error as follows when I "Charge the enemy":

    SCRIPT ERROR ON OPCODE 21:  Invalid Script Parameter ID: 0:  LINE NO: 0:
    At script: cf_get_first_agent_with_troop_id.


    Anybody have the answer?

    HELP me out guys!

    I did this tweek and now my scripts dont work and my game crashes.  And I love this game.

    Can somebody post the following from the "menu.txt"file in your Data/Mods/POP2 file:
    I need what comes after "mno_encounter_attack" for about 10 lines worth.  I had cut and pasted the tweek instead (for once, without a backup, doh!)

    My game is unplayable util I can do this...
  13. Cults, Repairing and Lairs

    Nope,
    no lairs is 200+ game days.  Maybe there is an easter egg I don't know about.  Otherwise, no lair.

    HOWEVER, this would be a pretty neat suggestion to post in the suggestions thread!
  14. Griffin Knights stats

    I built Griffins in my Kingdom of Pendor with just the Qualis... then I spent 50k upgrading them and they rock!
  15. After lord accepts recruitment where is he?

    Have you waited at least 24 hours?  I find they usually are around... somewhere in my kingdom after a day or two.  If you gift them a castle, they tend to go there.  But at first, they are not around.... especailly if they were injured.
