    You want to seem intellectual, so you cite a Mesopotamian mythological demigod with their also being a related historical figure. You also wish to convey sympathies with modern popular culture, so you include "homey." But Gilgamesh is not just anyone's homey, he is yours. This reflects a need to express your own greatness upon others. But a truly great figure has no need of this expression, their deeds fulfill this role. Thus you are lacking in some aspect, most likely these being inadequacies of machismo.

    Cavalry are Rubbish

    Cavalry aren't rubbish at all. Are they slightly more difficult than they were in MM? Yes, but if you were a good cavalryman in MM, you'll be a good cavalryman in NW. In MM Russia, you could get away with being a poor cavalryman and still do relatively well. That's no longer possible, cavalry takes skill to do well. I would like to see cav be slightly faster (hussars were a bit too fast in MM, but they now feel slightly sluggish), but otherwise cav feels good.

    The reason this DLC is around is because there's a large and active segment of the Mount and Blade community that enjoys the Napoleonic style of warfare, and paying for it as DLC grants the development team more resources, which in turn produces better content for the players. If you don't want to play this style of content, that is fine. No one is forcing you to buy this, and it's not taking away from the development of any Paradox or Taleworlds projects.
