  1. How strong should I be before I start a claiment quest?

High leadership will also boost your morale, which allows you to maintain more troops. Either that or stockpile a ton of food in your inventory.

I'd be at least level 20 with at least strong pathfinding, first aid, surgery on your heroes. You will want to take a castle quickly, so crank your army to the max and have a good force before starting. Huscarls are great for storming a castle door, but not super strong against Swadian Knights. If you have Vaegir troops to upgrade, make some Knights to counter the Swadians. Mind you, 50 top tier troops will roll basically any army that the computer fields except for a King's, though. But they have to be top tier, and you will take casualties, so you need to replace them.
  2. How strong should I be before I start a claiment quest?

I'm guessing leadership isn't your strong point. Crank that a bit. Find the book Alixenus the Great, which is a free leadership point, for example. A 50 man army is on the weak side unless you're fielding 50 huscarls. Level 17 is a bit low too, but more respectable sounding than the bulk of your army.
  3. quick question.....

If you own fiefs and are not allied to a faction, then if you choose to join a faction, you retain your fiefs, but they become territory of the kingdom you joined.
  4. Any advice for getting gems

Personal preference: mercenary companies tend to be easier to kill, IMHO. Look for Ozwald de Fleur or Griffonsword Adventuring Companies. I got my first two off them.
  5. so very stuck

Conversely, with the advice about avoiding cavalry, it helps if you have your own cavalry against infantry units such as Sea Raiders. Since the Khergit are largely cavalry, try recruiting a bunch of them, leveling them up a little, and then using them as a base army to fight Sea Raiders.
  6. Stagnant faction.

Not really. Sometimes lords will give you a quest to raid caravans to incite a war, but that's luck of the draw too. Other than that, just have to wait for hostilities.
  7. Whats the difference?

Yes. It very much does matter. In brief:

Swadians: heavy troopers, including heaviest cavalry, but relatively weaker shooters (crossbowmen).

Vaegirs: balanced, but lighter than Swadians, best shooters in the game (marksmen)

Rhodoks: no cavalry, dominated by spear and crossbow use, heaviest crossbowmen.

Khergits: almost all cavalry and lots of bowmen (only ones with horse archers), but lacking heavy weapons and armor.

Nords: no cavalry, dominated by good close range melee troops, with a weak archer tree; probably the worst shooters in the game.
  8. Playing as a Bandit Lord

Don't get your hopes up, as I doubt a bandit army would stand up to a lord party of one of the factions.
Oh they do. Not often, but I've seen it happen, especially in the forest around Ehlerdah that's just swarming with forest bandits that love to gang up on hapless passers by.

Problem is, you need a proportionally large amount of them to deal with kingdom armies. It just makes it a lot harder.
  9. multiplayer

Not out yet. Just gotta wait. Check the stickied threads at the top for more info.
  10. mods

TEATRC is good. Native Expansion and Sword of Damocles are also fun.

Nevermind i still cant figure out what to do (i owned everything for atleast 2 hours realtime (i have not bean attacked or seen and of the old lords) my lords stay in their towns and do nothing

i still have one of their lords on me but they have not tryed to buy him yet i sold the king but it seems as if nothing is happening (other nations are at war with us and it seems i am the only one fighting unless i ask one of the lords to follow me (not saying its to hard to do it just stating its geting annoying)

i tryed searching for the old lords but cant find them anywhere i tryed to activate that ctrl+t chect but i dont think it works in native expation
(i cant ask anyone where the old lords are and the latest report is about 40days old i am starting to lose my money as the wars seemed to have slowed down after i took out their kings)

i tryed going to other kings to see if they had some option to ask for help with the rebellion and nothing poped up (they are not really good freands so i dont know if thats why)

this is so annoying i could really use some help

Ctrl-t should work in Native Expansion. Are you sure you have cheats enabled?

You can ask the lord you have in your dungeon to join your cause. Go visit him and talk to him. To finish the rebellion, you need to track down and kill all the remaining lords, caravans and farmers of the other faction. Caravans and farmers will disappear on their own, but lords will not. Eventually, though, the lords will get whittled down and killed by bandits if you play long enough.
  12. Playing as a Bandit Lord

They still get owned by faction troops at higher levels. A more realistic (but very expensive) option is the all non-faction troop army, which is bandits + mercenaries.
  13. King Gone?

It's not a buggy response. You just have to search for him. Run by the place it says he should be. If he's not there, check around for some big tracks if you have tracking. Or use true sight, as already suggested, if you're ok with cheating.

  15. Extra skills bonus for NPC raiding parties

Some normal, non-hero troops have skills.  Which is probably where you're getting the bonus to pathfinding from, because they do contribute to party skills the same as heroes.

I don't think Trainer falls into this category.  I created an upgrade to the Lady Knight that had 10 in Trainer, but it didn't change the amount of experience my troops received.  I think pathfinding does have an effect though because when I ended up with a few Rangers (Bards???) with super high Pathfinding I did notice that my troops moved faster.

It could be interesting to have a medic troop type with 8 or so Surgery, but low HP, crappy armor, and a dagger or something (Surgeon's Knife).

I don't think Trainer does either. It's a personal skill, not a party skill, even though it kind of acts like one.

It's hard to always determine if things affect your speed. Note things like morale, load, army number, etc also affect it.
