General Article Creation Guide:

This guide will be covering most of the formatting markup texts and styles you need to know to create and edit wiki pages. It will also cover and explain how to create the different elements you find on each article. I'll be finishing this in the following days. Let me know any questions that come to your mind so that I may update this guide if necessary.

• [anchor=tagLinks]Links:[/anchor]

There are two type of links, internal and external. The former is a link to a page inside the wiki (doesn't matter whether it exists or not) while the latter links to a page on a different website. They are also displayed with different colors. Red is a link to an existing page inside the wiki, gray is a link to a page that does not exist and blue/green-ish are links to other websites. A gray link automatically becomes red whenever its page is created.

To create a link just select the text you need and then click on this button in the toolbar:

6pOWIvN.png

This window will pop-up:

4kRiofX.png

First, you have to select the type of link you are creating. Once that is done, you can either type the page name (internal link) or the website URL (external). In case of a link to a wiki page, remember you need to type the exact name of the page. (the one you find on top of the article). Finally, in the last text-box you put the text that will be displayed with the link. As a default option, the text to display matches the target page.

For example, if we want to create a link to the WNL Season 5 page, we will do as follow:
Target page or URL: Warband Native League Season 5 (the page name)
Text to display: WNL 5 (what will be displayed on the article)

It's important that you create a link whenever you write the name of a player, a team or a tournament. If the same name is repeated multiple times in the article, only link it few times to avoid creating a wall of red text.

P.S: While creating links to tournaments keep in mind that all tournaments pages display their full names, e.g. the WPL2's page will be called Warband Pro League Season 2. If you aren't sure how a tournament has been called I suggest either looking at this list or checking if it has already been mentioned in any of the other pages.

• [anchor=tagFileUploads]File Uploads:[/anchor]

To upload a file click Tools --> Upload File  in the tob sub-navigation bar. A page will open, asking you to select a file from your PC. Once that is done you can re-name your file in the Destination filename text-box. Don't change any of the other options and feel free to leave the summary box empty. Once you are done, click the button Upload File.
When uploading an image, keep in mind that to better organize the files and make them easier to find, we've set some standards for the images based on the category they belong to.

[list type=decimal]
• Players: the image name should match the player's nickname. (e.g. mine would be 7evn.png). You should use a close-up picture of your in-game character with transparent background. Check these images as examples:
200px-Scar.png
200px-Kane.png
200px-Deafening.png
• Teams: There are 3 types of images for teams inside the wiki. The first is the team banner put inside a circle, which is displayed in the infoboxes. The second is the regular banner and the last is the team logo (it's optional, not all teams have that). The file's name is made of 2 parts, the first containing the team full name (don't use tags nor shorter versions!) and the second is a number that specifies the image type, going from 1 to 3. (Usually the 1 is omitted)
ApisEuropae.png
ApisEuropae.png
148px-ApisEuropae2.png
ApisEuropae2.png
180px-ApisEuropae3.png
ApisEuropae3.png
P.S: Most of the team banners are already up on the wiki, just have a search through the uploaded files list.

• Tournaments: as for players, the name of the image must match the tournament's name. It can either be the acronym or the full name, depending on its length.

IMPORTANT: Do not put any spaces in the file names. (e.g. ApisEuropae not Apis Europae)

If you need help to make your player picture you can send us a screen of your in-game character on our discord, same goes for the team images.
[/list][br]
• [anchor=tagPageCategories]Page Categories:[/anchor]

All pages have been divided into 4 main categories: players, teams, tournaments and game knowledge. It is mandatory that every page is classified, otherwise it won't be visible in its category page. To classify an article you need to add a small line of text on top of it, depending on what you are currently working on.

- Examples:

- Example:

- Example:

Teams and tournaments areas can be International, North America and Europe.

• [anchor=tagInfoboxes]Infoboxes:[/anchor]

An infobox is a table displayed on the top-right corner of every article, which presents a summary of its content aswell as references to other related pages. We have created an infobox template for each article category and type. In this guide, i'll be covering the 3 most used ones. If you need help with a different template don't hesitate to contact us.

[list type=decimal]
• Players:

The texts in bold are the information you need to edit. When writing the name of your country\team for the .png file do not put any spaces or it won't find the image. (e.g. United Kingdom and Apis Europae are correct.)

In the plays since row, the data format must be similar to October 2014 or February 2134. All other formats are incorrect.

In the team history part you should list only the main clans/teams you played with. Don't list any Nations Cup teams. Remember it is just supposed to give an overview of the player's history. When writing the time period, type only the first 3 letters of the month and follow them with the related year (e.g. Feb 2014 - Oct 2341). Whenever you need an additional line to display a team, the format is: | labelX = MMM YYYY: | dataX = TEAM NAME. It is important that the label and data numbers match, otherwise the line won't be shown. Each time you include a new team line you also need to add this text at the top of the template:
| rowclassX = playerHistoryLabel, where X is the number of the row you just created. Be careful that you can't have 2 rows with the same numbers. This means that every time you create a team row with a number greater or equal to 14, you need to update the last 2 rows of the infobox with a bigger number. (headerY = Links | data(Y+1) = ...)

| rowclass11 = playerHistoryLabel
| rowclass12 = playerHistoryLabel
| rowclass13 = playerHistoryLabel
| rowclass14 = playerHistoryLabel

[....]

| label11 = Aug 2011 – Dec 2011: | data11 = Black Knights of Italy
| label12 = Jan 2012 – May 2012:neutral: data12 = Armata Brancaleone
| label13 = May 2012 – Oct 2012:neutral: data13 = Guard of Istiniar
| label14 = Oct 2012 – Present:neutral: data14 = Renegades
| header15 = Links
| data16 = https://goo.gl/zJ3EVA http://steamcommunity.com/id/7ev7en/
Finally, if you want to include any of your social media links, you can do so in the last part. Right now, we only support Taleworlds, Twitter and Steam. Due to some issues with the template, when including your Taleworlds profile link you need to use Google URL Shortener.

If you do not want to include a line or for example, don't have any alternative names you can easily remove the row, without the need to change any of the other numbers.
SSa9bwL.png

• Teams:

When adding the team image, remember to have a look through the uploaded files to check how it has been called as sometimes there are some small differences (e.g. the image for IG is called GuardIstiniar.png instead of GuardOfIstiniar.png). The image has to be the circled banner, not the full one.

If the team disbanded you can also add when that happened, in the status row with the following format: December 2, 2012. The data of foundation has the same style.
L4iScvu.png
• Tournaments:

We have decided to create a page for each season of a tournament, all linked to an overview page which contains a summary of the tournament series. For example, WNL has a Warband Native League page and then an article for every season, such as Warband Native League Season 1 etc.. The series page link inside the infobox refers to that overview page.

Every time you need to list an admin, do so in a new line using the command
. Same goes for consultants and sponsors.

If the tournament had multiple divisions, such as the ENL, the infobox should display only the winners of the top division.

• [anchor=tagAchievementsTable]Achievements Table:[/anchor]

In the achievements table, tournaments have been divided in Major, Minor and Duel. If you are unsure what the tournament you are adding is classified as, either check the other pages or contact us. In team pages tournaments are divided only between Major and Minor.

Achievements should be ordered by placement, from the ones you won till the 4th place. Don't include tournaments were you arrived below the 4th place. Tournament_Name refers to the tournament overview page while Tournament_Name_Season refers to the page of that specific season. In the near text just write Season X where X is the number of the season.
|
|Warband Native League
| Season 2
|Apis Europae
|2013

For duel tournaments and team pages the only difference is that,  for obvious reasons, you don't have a team column.

[br]
• [anchor=tagRosterTable]Roster Table:[/anchor]

Roster tables are used in team pages to display the active, inactive and former players of a team.

All players should be listed in alphabetical order. If possible the join and leave date should be written as MMM YYYY such as Feb 2014. New Team refers to the team the player joined after leaving that one. Also, please list only one class per player. If the player plays multiple roles, just pick his main.

Although sometimes it's hard to keep track of all the players that joined and left a team, we ask you to be as accurate as possible. If you do not know an information, just leave the cell empty.

If a team has disbanded, all players should be listed as Former.
