Update: I have a GTX 1080 for context. I was able to avoid the crash for a while throughout my game but it has only gotten worse. It has reached a point where it crashes just walking on the campaign map. I have tried all of the fixes mentioned above and none of which have fixed it or shown any improvement. Additionally, my crash report also crashes. RIP.

I was playing on full screen mode and was getting the error.

This has also been happening with me. Except the game will crash every time I get this error. For context, this error keeps happening often especially in the tutorial or if I try to play a board game in the taverns.
