FAQ: Compilation of everything we know so far

    Comrade Temuzu said:
Alright lads, with all these threads popping up about random questions regarding the new features and whatnot, let's compile all the information on this one thread. I'll do my best to keep the OP updated, but in the meanwhile, post anything you know about the mod you think is worth knowing on this thread, and I'll start adding them up.

Q: Where's the multiplayer at? I was promised multiplayer. I want a refund.
A: Multiplayer wont be in the first release. Nor will it probably be in anytime soon. Remember that this is an open alpha release of the mod, the main goal is to let the players help finding bugs/testing features and balance. Multiplayer will be in one day, possibly between the releases of Bannerlord and HL3.

    Who told you this??
I don't remember Doc said that...

The Royal Highlander Fusiliers don't got their kilts...

That's not a bug: if you check the royal highlander equipement in the military depot, you'll notice that there are two types of pants; the first one has the kilt and the squared socks, while the second one has only the lower part (squared socks and shoes) that's why that type of pants must to be worn with the greatcoat.

The guys in that picture are a very vague attempt at historical yeoman cavalry, volunteer militia who were basically along the lines of a Napoleonic Home Guard.

Most famous of these is probably the Manchester and Salford Yeoman Cavalry, which was a major part of a massacre of peaceful demonstrators which killed 15 and injured at least 400. Somehow I doubt they'll be making an appearance, given that this took place 10 years after L'Aigle is set.

Honestly, naval battles that are bigger and more complicated than just a couple ships throwing stones at each other seems out of place. I feel like it's a feature that would only work for a game that centralizes around it--like Caribbean!--but in the case of L'Aigle it would make sense to only have a very simple and basic naval system, like two ships boarding each other, or something like that. Similarly to what we see in other games, like Clash of Kings for example. Anything past that would just be distracting and out of place, in my opinion. The post-boarding combat in Caribbean! is what I would expect and probably most enjoy out of a L'Aigle naval battle, but that's just the opinion of one. Perhaps there's some slight alternate method to code the shotgun blast to at least have that? I'm no expert though, my coding palette really is quite small.

It's pretty amusing to see how pumped people are getting here, I always thought it was better to keep expectations dangerously low for something new and have the product improve your opinion on it regardless of how good it actually is. For L'Aigle, a mod that takes what I love from Warband, sprinkled with musket warfare, but totally overhauled graphically, I think I should be impressed with just that.

Your opinion... i respect it and in a certain way you are right: complex naval battle could be very hard to create, but...
My dream would be to see naval battles like in The Deluge for example, but i know that this may requires long time to be made!
