  1. Early Access = Exhausting Alpha

    3) Every war quickly descends into endless stupid doomstacks of recruits:

I saw a dev post they already had a solution to this with an impressive table of result that shows the new total troop numbers by faction and what tier those troops are. The new results seems much improved with AI slowly building up more troops total and vastly less recruits. They just haven't added in to the most recent patch yet.
  2. Snow ball starts to roll again? (1.3)

It happened in both my campaigns. One faction suddenly steamrolls everything.

Can't you join one of the factions fighting the early big power to set them back? I usually find myself focusing on just building up my renown, wallet, and troops in the early part and watching which kingdom looks the most likely to snowball early on and then be a Merc or Vassal for their most vulnerable neighbor. Much easier to turn the tide as a Vassal though since you can actually form Armies and get cities/castles as a reward.

Also I use the Shattered Kingdoms mod to stunt the snowballing. Basically breaks up every faction into 5 or 6 smaller factions. Makes for a cool world with mods that give different clans different banners. The only downside I find is that since a lot of the new factions are clans made into their own kingdom they can't 'give up' their kingdom status and become vassals for a larger victiorius kingdom so a lot of clans effectively die along with their kingdoms and there are less clans as the game goes on compared to a regular game where most clans other than the royal ones switch to a new kingdom if their original one dies.
  3. What do you want? balance or content

I really think balance can be handled well enough by mods for now. The game is really really missing content and a lot of basic features like factions splitting and creating new factions so the map doesn't become stale controlled just by 1 faction, are fundamentally necessary for the game to have much replay value. I don't really care how well the game is balanced if there isn't enough content to keep me interested beyond the short term.
  4. Aging, death, and children

Does the dying of age and playing as an heir part of the game work yet?
  5. High level prisoners (named Nobles) are randomly escaping my party

Yep, they seem to have a high chance to do that after a few days so you can't just keep them in your party and deprive the AI of someone who leads their parties on the campaign map for unreasonable amounts of time. Makes sense to me.
