Quick question:

My CKO sergeants are currently using a crossbow as their power draw is only 3.

I have been training with Lethaldiran (say 50% of the time, the rest some other companion for higher attributes etc).

Is it solely randomness that means their power draw has not been increased to a decent level? Would it help increase PD trained by equipping them with a ****ty bow in the meantime ?

Is it just me or does someone in the tavern background go, in a really greasy french accent, "bler bler bler croissant bler bler"?

You can leave your order just by speaking to one of the knights at a chapter and asking to.  Unless you're grandmaster, then you're stuck.  You will have a relations drop with ALL the orders when you leave.

Thanks - just noticed that from the wiki but is it possible if the Grandmaster quest has already been started but not completed? The knight in Poinsbruk isn't giving me any dialogue option to quit. Sounds like it isn't if the knight is the one who gives the choice.

Oh well, i am only owning Poinsbruk for now as a stop gap until I capture a Capital so..

Is it possible to change the knighthood order you have joined? I started out with K of the Raven Spear but I now have decided I would prefer to go the 'canonical' route of Knights of the Griffon.

Ok so I see from the wiki it is possible to quit an order. Is it possible if the Grandmaster quest has already been started but not completed? The knight in Poinsbruk isn't giving me any dialogue option to quit.

Sounds like you should have asked all the walled fiefs be awarded to you, convinced as many lords as you can to support you as long as possible, and then rebelled whist keeping all the territories. Letting go captured lords actually yields very little relation gain -- +2 (instead of vanilla's +5), though if you let go good/martial lords, you will get a boost with them again later if you talk to them. The best way seems to be jumping into fights where other lords are already engaged, and talking to all the participants afterwards.

I always free Good/Martial lords, capture douchey ones (especially since they hate you more for letting them go), and let the circumstantial ones go depending on my mood. I also always wait for the ransom offer, which is usually higher than what you'd get from them in the dialogue screen.

I didn't request all the walled fiefs as I was trying to keep my fiefs geographically consolidated in the east / not too far from Poinsbruk, but in retrospect a few extra towns would be very welcome at this point.

You mention the amount is reduced to +2 (but a nice boost when speaking later) compared to vanilla +5 but don't forget that honour now has the added use of lowering prestige costs.

R.E. free the good (that give nice +rep) and capture the douchey ones - is there a particular way to tell which is which prior to the annoying event of speaking to them afterwards and getting a big reduction?

I have got close with lords who aren't prisoners so I can keep working on relation and persuasion. I did manage to convert one who left Ravenstern to D'Shar, and nicely he also is the father of my intended bride so a nice little bonus.

I might start playing the ransom game, as you suggest. I could convert my current captures into a useful 50-60k then hunt them down again when they are trying to build their small party back up.

I recently started my kingdom, bringing only 3 castles, a town and the associated villages with me when leaving Ravenstern and declaring independence.

Unfortunately, my tenure as marshal of Ravenstern was a little too successful and so they also own basically all of Fierdsvein, making my task of reconquering Ravenstern in the name of the true Kingdom of Pendor a little more complicated  .

I have now been at war with them for about 80 days without them being willing to accept a truce. What was originally very much a defensive effort of throwing back siege after siege has now shifted to more general skirmishing (nice xp though - for some reason killing 50 knights and 100+ trash per siege with a bow helps!!). Whilst I originally was releasing lords so as to keep boosting relations and honour this meant I wasn't realling damaging their offensive capabilities.

I have now shifted to capturing lords to damage their military capabilities, but I really need to get some lords of my own!!

Oh well. Hopefully they will accept a truce if I keep on imprisoning their lords. I need a truce so as to be able to downsize my garrisons and do a few tournament runs to boost my coffers as after 80 days of being slightly budget-negative but pumping lots into a fledling CKO and KotRS stats my wallet is a little light. Hopefully I can also persuade some lords to jump over.

Anyway, here I am with my 'friends' so far. Plenty of space for more in comfy cells of Poinsbruck

"1. Befriend lords and take them prisoner
In order to befriend lords you need to increase your relationship with them. The relationship is shown in points. You can see it when you talk to a lord and move the courser over his face, which can be seen in the upper left corner of the conversation screen. You need to have a relationship of at least seventeen points with a lord to be able to recruit him. When you take a lord with whom you have 17 relationship-points or more prisoner and talk to him by clicking on "talk" in the party window, he will offer you to swear homage (or something along those lines). Accept this oath and he will be your vassal. "

Is this true anymore? I only get the option to ransom them.

Is that how it works? I think you don't have to have a set of armour in your inventory for the CKHO - instead there's just a list of available items that take into account their strength as well as what you have unlocked (eg. needing to talk to Noldor lord for Noldor armours).

My Question: When asking for support to receive a castle, everyone replies "You have already been well-rewarded with fiefs appropriate to your accomplishments, I would say."
How do I up my 'accomplishments' in this case? - I only have one poor village, and I have personally captured two castles!

I am just guessing but how high is your renown? It could be you need more.

I just picked up a Lordly Heraldic Plate and Mail from Sarleons (set me back 195k, but it has 64 body) and can't wait to equip them with it along with a helmet with +body armour.

yeah. I remember M&B Native Expansion Lady Knights - they were great. I always used to roll with an escort of 20-50 of 'em when I was a monarch.

How do I edit the hotkey to speed up the main campaign map? In vanilla it's CTRL + Space, but with the mod CTRL brings up the mod options. It's not a huge deal, but it does get a little frustrating when I have to go from one side of the map to the other at normal speed.

Also, thumbs up to the modders that have put work into this, you have made my warband experience much more enjoyable!

Strange. CTRL functions as normal for me, and I believe by default, Mod Options isn't mapped to CTRL. You may have changed the key bindings and forgot about it, or accidentally.

Go into mod options and fix the key bindings so CTRL is free again.

That's the problem. I've looked in all the options, the vanilla one, and mod options, and I don't see anything that will let me change the hotkey. I've also googled it, but all of the potential answers were just cheat codes and the like.

Control isn't meant to bring up the mod options afaik. Perhaps place a question in the support topic? The best thing to do first is to try a reinstall of the mod (just the mod). Should take about 2 minutes and hopefully will fix the issue.
