  1. [S] Pike and Blade 3.5: Riders on the Storm!

I love this mod and I think it's so underrated, though it seems to be getting the attention it deserves.

I've been playing as Vaegirs and Rhodoks. I found archers to be underwhelming, but the Rhodok crossbows pack a helluva punch, especially in sieges. I usually park a load of xbows in front with infantry waiting in the back. After shooting off all their bolts, I usually have half of the garrison wiped out before taking out the rest with vaegir champions.

I'm thinking maybe give the Vaegir archers a bit more of a punch or weaken the xbowmen... archers just don't seem to be that useful in comparison to crossbows.

Can't get this to work properly with the diplomacy mod. The problem is that the game runs and all but some of the shields and armors are see through.

    ^ This =\

Yeah, all you have to do is use Diplomacy's item file, but then copy the horses section from Pike and Blade over the horses section of diplomacy's item file.
  3. [S] Pike and Blade 3.5: Riders on the Storm!

I agree of Kogara. This little mod is awesome. A few other things that you were planning, like changes in the economic system, integrating diplomacy and auto-loot, would have made it even better. I've tried the other mods, but I like this one because of its simplicity.

As for installing the diplomacy mod, I've had some success just copying Pike and Blade's files over the diplomacy files. Haven't gotten far enough to see if the diplomacy aspects work yet or not though.
  4. [S] Pike and Blade 3.5: Riders on the Storm!

Haven't heard much from Aeon recently, but I'm still looking forward to the next release.
  5. [S] Pike and Blade 3.5: Riders on the Storm!

Hehe, I'm also an econ major... very excited to see what you come up with. Personally, I wish we could see more of the details in the game, like what is affecting the growth of villages and towns and stuff like that. More improvements for towns and castles would be nice too, though I'm not sure how that can be done. So I'm having a lot of fun with the mod as it is now and and definitely looking forward to having auto-loot included in the next version.
  6. [S] Pike and Blade 3.5: Riders on the Storm!

I like your ideas on weakening horses. I rebelled against Swadia recently and their knights are just steamrolling me... keep up the good work! Yours is the only mod I play these days.
  7. [S] Pike and Blade 3.5: Riders on the Storm!

Currently waiting for the fixed version before I download. I can't wait!

(btw, any updates on the fix?)
  8. [S] Pike and Blade 3.5: Riders on the Storm!

Playing as Rhodok and so far, it's been tons of fun. Good job on a great little mod!
  9. Favourite Western Films

Regarding a wild west setting I also love the movie "Serenity"! What, science-fiction? Yes, but also wild west...

I was gonna say that one... here are a few more off the beaten path movies with the 'western' theme:

Sholay - A South Indian western
Seven Samurai - The Japanese 'western' that the Magnificent Seven was based off of
Cowboy Bebop - Anime sci-fi western
Shanghai Noon - Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson...
  10. Recommended music to mod in?

A good percentage of Firefly's soundtrack fits well.
  11. Conquest! (v0.70 released July 3rd)

I've been playing this mod for a little while now and I really like the direction its heading. Please keep up the good work!

(And autoloot would be an awesome addition)
  12. Conquest! (v0.70 released July 3rd)

Looks like a fun mod. I'm still trying to find a mod I really like so I can write a story about my adventures. Hopefully this one will be it!
  13. "Light&Darkness - Heroes of Calradia" for M&B1.010/1.011. Feb 6, 2010 Updated.

If I have the English version of M&B, can I play the Chinese version? Also, where can I get the Chinese version?
  14. M&B: Realism

    Zaro 说:
Something that bothers me (M&B in general) is that the encounters are over far too quickly. There are two solutions, but both have pretty bad downsides:

    1. Larger battles. This would be too much of a hassle for those with a smaller battlesize (I'm thinking battles of 500-1000 as normal), which would mean larger battles would have to be optional and that would require balancing incomes and parties for two different settings. Many reinforcements also break up the battle unfortunately and significantly decrease the player's chance of survival even when it shouldn't.

    2. Slow the casualty rate. Much easier to balance and the battle wouldn't be so disjointed since there is less reinforcing (or none if you use a large battle size). The only problem is that it decreases the chance of a player getting that single unlucky lethal blow. Lower damage means lesser uncertainty and desperation, two things a battle should really have.

Neither are good solutions so I'll probably just leave things as they are, but I do wish battles were slower.

Well, how about making it so that damage is lower, but at the same time make the multiplier for head shots and critical melee hits (are there critical melee hits?) much higher so that uncertainty still exists?
  15. M&B: Realism

I recently started playing Mount and Blade and I must say it's one of my favorite games, despite its weakpoints, so far.

Though I'm a little disappointed that the role playing and level progression seems not to be the emphasis of this mod (I just like that sense of personal accomplishment), I think the improvements that you're planning on bringing to combat as well as the fiefs will be more than enough to make up for it.

I do have a question though: you said that troops will accumulate in the fiefs and I'm a little confused as to how this will work. Does the AI automatically fill up villages and towns and castles with troops at a set rate and then you can recruit them from there or do you build them yourself?

Overall, I'm very excited and keep up the good work! The map looks especially beautiful!
