Few WIP of my work on the new historical town scene for France:

Town of Nantes, with the early castle of Dukes of Brittany, almost finished:

Town of Paris, with the Louvre fortress in the foreground:

Another view of Paris, here you can see the road that lead to St-Honoré Gate.

And a very early WIP of the town of Rouen, with the new castle build by the King of France after the conquest of the town in 1204

When 2.1 comes out, I'll bug test it! Can't wait!  Those new France scenes look great,!  :fruity: :fruity:

Thanks, but i am not sur that i will have finished the new french scenes for 2.1 ...  it takes time (historical research and scene making) .
Only three are almost finished (Bordeaux, Toulouse and Nantes) and one just started (Paris). As i plan to do new scenes for all town of France, there still lot of work to do, and as far as i know, Kratos want the new scenes to be released all in one pack.

Is there many new scenes in this mod ?

I am working on scenes for Kingdom of France, so there will be entirely new and historical scenes for every Town of France.
You can see few WIP in page 9 of the topic

I came across this. Wow would this be cool for big battles.
    https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?topic=344460.0

Looks cool but only for siege in my opinion: sieges engines of the time weren't used on open field battles, this kind of use only really started with the artilery with fire by the mid XVe century.

Here are few WIP for somes new uniques historical scenes for France i am working on.

    Town of Bordeaux
    Overview of the town
    1541264481-20181103175025-1.jpg

View on the new market town of "La Rouselle" most dynamic  part of the city at the time. Only this part of the town will be accessible.
    1541264558-20181103175114-1.jpg

    Town of Toulouse

    1541264571-20181103175419-1.jpg

    1541265452-20181103175401-1.jpg

South side of the city with the "Narbonnaise" gate, Castle, and watermill on the far left.

    Town of Nantes
    1541264585-20181103175634-1.jpg

View of the north-east of the city with the early castle of Dukes of Brittany.

It takes times because i try to get close as possible to historicals sources, (with few adjustment due to warband engine of course).

I didn't express myself clearly, "Guillaume" is and old name used at the time but it would/could have been spelled in many different way if the man named like this (or the scribe writting his name) is for example occitan ("Guilhelm") or even english-norman ("William").
It's the same name. And during the medieval era the "guillaume" version tend to became the more common at the detriment of others version in France.

That's why i selected this one.

SP Medieval [WB] 1257 AD - Enhanced Edition

Not a problem Caractacus. with more choice it's better. but in your list of name some are always for comoners and some are not accurate to the era. Guillaume is the recent pronunciation of Guilhem as example ...
Not exactly, in fact the name was taking different form in term of geographic situation or languages in France (or even out of France), and it can become quit complex!  That's why i voluntary choose the more common and modernized version.

But we had more than 30 families, just I think (but can be wrong) that nobles have surname with "de" "du" "de la" "d'" in suffix.
It's a common misconception, yes  suffix "de" "du" "de la" "d'" where very common in surname of the french nobility, but also for the commoners! So it wasn't a sign of nobility by itself. And yes somes nobles had surnames without suffix.
All the surname i gave are real surnames of Minor Nobility that can be found in manuscript of the time. I wanted to avoid major or too famous nobles to steer clear of duplication or confusion with already existings lords in the game.

Let me know if you encounter any issue related to things i added if they cause trouble in your scene work.
Ok! It's fine for now.

About the scenes: I will be grateful if you could do that. I'm more interested in fixing the siege scenes that plague the mod though.
Don't worry all the scenes i plan to do will have fully workable and uniques sieges scenes.

It's really awsome to see the rebirth of this mod it was the first one i played and still remains as one of my favourite!
Played a bit of this new version it looks promising!

One suggestion on the name of king of France Louis IX: he shoul'nt be named "the saint" in 1257, he was canonized only in 1297, almost thirty years after his death.

I have some knowledge in medieval history/archeology of France, i might be able to do some more historical/realistic/uniques scenes for the Kingdom Of France if you are interested!

Bonjour, quand on rentre dans le menu général d'une ville d'un châteaux ou d'un village, on a en arrière plan une image d'une ville, chateaux ou village. Je voudrais savoir comment les modifier pour les remplacer par d'autres. (Quel fichier, quel format, etc...). Merci d'avance!
