    First thing, try not to necro, it annoys some people

    and secondly, I'm fairly certain some of the older versions allowed a female main character to marry female vassals, for reasons I really can't be bothered divulging =P

    Yeah, they have the shame of having the second best infantry in the game (with the highest health and largest shields), and their ranged units? pfft, they only slightly beat out the second best ranged unit in the game, why that stinks!

    Yeah, that sounds to me like a bug
    You should prolly consider updating from 1.1 to 1.134/1.143
    might fix your problem

    But thats always been the tradeoff

    The only reason to use a lance is for that initial long range kill, or if you're heavily outnumbered, and you need a way of attacking that was both infinite use, and would keep you out of counter attack distance
    if you're just going for pure kill speed, then of course a sword will kill faster then a lance
    Also, couching lances is probably the easiest way of getting kills for a newb in the game (I know it was for me =P)
    My original statement was just saying that Lord Silvabanes statement of "lances are useless when they're blocked, thats why I use swords" is misleading, that swords are just as easily, if not easier blocked compared to a lance.

    But you can block great swords and bastard swords just as easily as you can block a lance...
    easier, I think, cause I don't think couching causes ai to block

I go to discard 1 of my knights to make room ( why discard 1 of my best troops? I figured it would save more money). I had my finger on the wrong button and accidently discarded all of my knights... then I went on to lose to the Nords.

    Funniest Moment - Probably not that funny to anyone else, but a Javalin of some type was thrown straight into my horses head and it looked like I was riding a Unicorn around the battlefield.... no screen shots or anything, but I found it amusing.

    When he first drops his shield for an attack, you get an opening for a single headshot
    thats pretty much your only chance, though, unless you like pinging at legs

    Take No (all) Prisoners

    The iron mace is a good 2-H blunt weapon with decent reach and damage
    Have to be careful though, cause there are 2, and one has considerably less reach then the other =P

    Edit: Oops, just realised that OP was talking about polearms, try the heavy long hafted spiked mace?
