B Native Other Polished Landscapes [RELEASED][news pg. 19]

I think a few are enough, otherwise the effect would lessen

I must have messed up something, when I try to leave the scene after the initial talk with the merchant, the game crashes to desktop. I might have to look further into this, the mod really looks nice.

Is the random skeleton lying on the ground part of the mod? Or is my question just now incredibly stupid? I want random skeletons!

How to stop reknown from draining away

How do you manage that? I'm trying to us as many companions as possible, but I've only been able to use 12.
I've had Firentis, Jeremus, Ymira, and Alayen with all the other companions. F & Y eventually left (because we had been doing too much killing?).

Ah well, I was always playing with 16 companions, in M&B I used themagelord's tweaks and in warband the tweakMB tool from kefka95 made it laughably easy, just disable interaction and add the option to forbid them to leave.

Go to your SIMPLE_TRIGGERS.TXT file and find the following:

    168.000000  4 520 3 1224979098644774912 360287970189639680 7 2123 3 1224979098644774913 1224979098644774912 200 2106 2 1224979098644774912 1224979098644774913 500 3 360287970189639680 7 1224979098644774912

Your current renown is divided by the 200 (ie, 0.5%), then the result is subtracted from your current renown.  This happens once per week.  To eliminate it, simply change the 200 to a very high number, such as 99999.

If you wanted to do it a different way, the 168.000000 is the number of hours between renown decreases (168 hours = once per week by default).  Again, you could simply change this to a very high number, such as 9999.000000, and the renown decrease would only happen about once per year.

Oh wow! That was exactly what I was looking for! You already helped so much with your tweaking tool. I was kind of playing around with the back color of heraldic armors in the module system but you my dear sir seem to have completely mastered it. Again, thank you very much.
Looking back to the original, this trigger existed from the beginning of mount and blade. I never noticed it. It seems like I was a more belligerent warmonger back then and the influence isn't as big as I expected. Loosing 10 to 20 reknown per week isn't that much. Seems like its fighting 100+ Seeraider parties then.
You should add that to your tool... but perhaps it isn't an issue that big for other gamers.

How to stop reknown from draining away

Companions when hitting lvl 25 or so are the best fighters you can hire in M&B even those focussing on int/cha. Ranged with 3 quivers of ammo and heavy armor (i limit myself to those that are heraldic) they are the best (cross)bowmen you can get. As I have all 16 they get exceedingly expensive. Ah well this is all ot anyway.

I am assuming at this point you have a strong band of companions yes? Garrison the army and take the companions out and hunt down large bandit groups. My companions and I can easily take on 30 average bandits (not talking about sea raiders)

My my... You don't get my point do you? I know how to gain reknown. I just don't like the game mechanic that reduces reknown over time when I idle around chasing butterflies. So I want to remove it. With a tweak.
I know I still can increase reknown by attacking every bandit party on the map on sight.

Wow, the lack of comprehension skills in this thread is quite scary. To answer the OP, no. No one's found a tweak yet to stop renown decreasing. At least not that I've ever seen.

At least someone read what I wrote.  If you find out more, please let me know.

    New manhunters.

The real tragedy is, that those guys go extinct really fast and you will never see the higher tiers of manhunters unless the player is levelling them himself. Because they spawn as your standart Manhunters on the worldmap. It would be nice if they were troops of like 1 slaver chief, some slave crushers, some more slave hunters, etc. and then reducing the number of manhunter partys on the worldmap, making the ones on the map bigger and respawning them when they die.

How to stop reknown from draining away

I noticed it going down when I travelled around Caladria building enterprises everywhere. I threw a party some time before that but I think it isn't connected to the party at all, it just happens some time after 800 or 900 reknown and it gets worse the more you have.
Sure it is easy to adjust the amout a tournament gives you, but that would raise reknown too fast in the beginning and it would still drain away when you don't do tournaments. There has to be a more elegant solution

    Upgrades to Intellect/Charisma based PCs

I think cha is a pretty weak stat and often used as the dumpstat by players. With str/agi 6 you level slower than a fighter character and with your bigger army size you get less reknown. They should add a feature, that your troops get fired up by being led by a charismatic hero so they get a bonus to ironflesh/power draw/power strike when you lead them in battle.

Businesses - do I just build Silk everywhere?

For supporting large armies in late game you should build silk nearly everywhere and set it to auto buy/sell. I can't notice any "market saturation". For rp reasons I decided to mix the enterprises of my trade empire but the whole feature just seems to be geared towards the player making easy money. It isn't a very big difference in gameplay terms.

How to stop reknown from draining away

I would like to know how to stop my reknown from lowering over time. I think it is one of the features that annoys me most in warband. As far as I can tell, it wasn't like that in native M&B, I remember having over 3k reknown there and Warband doesn't let me pass the 2000 line. I have the module...
