I think it needless to put arbitrary restrictions on a facet of the mod which adds a high degree of freedom to the game. If one thinks that heroes are to easy to acquire, one may very well enact their own arbitrary goals to acquire them, such as only acquiring one hero per level or per 5 levels, or perhaps acquire Olaf only after STR 10, or Anna after CHA 15, or so much honor or renown, etc. Forcibly adding things of this nature would be disruptive to those who like to acquire their heroes early and fight together from the beginning, using their imagination as it suits them. That, I think, is the greatest contribution this mod brings - allowing the player to use his imagination to provide substance as he or she may see fit. Otherwise, we are forced to play only a certain game, and given a choice between using my imagination to enjoy the same game many given ways to suit every particular caprice and whim, or having to play through a linear hassle to acquire the heroes, I'd choose the freedom and imagination every time. I don't think force feeding rules is good in this particular occasion. If having heroes available is too much of a temptation, then it is the player who needs modification, not the game.
