    no, i'm talking about something similar to native and the pretender rulers (can't think of that word). you could in turn help them regain a region and make them king and in turn you get a huge thank you.
    peasant revolts don't lead to anything, lots of death, lords armies destroyed but no new factions or emergent ones.
    again every "suggestion" i can think of is not worth the effort until maybe past the final release.
    You should do the Taleworlds approach, release a playable version and then add stuff on. :smile:  I'm joking ofcourse

    They seem to travel quite a bit, if you encounter a traveler you could ask him for locations... but thats not really a solution

    Why people keep asking for permanent death? It sucks, and it's not historically accurate at all! Nobles almost never killed nobles!

    True. Also it would break the game, because lords don't get kids so at some point one would have extinguished nearly all other lords on the map^^

    The only thing I can think of is maybe making it a .01% chance (or actually maybe even a lot less )to kill a lord is combat. I mean even idiot richard III got a bolt in the neck over a silly dispute. I'm sure though, some unlucky player will be depopulating all of europe in one game

    I think the distance is still a problem. there is only so far that lords will travel in war situations.
    Wouldn't it be nice if say there was a crusader ( a different one) faction that would pop up with like 1200(maybe lots more) troops in turkey or egypt anytime a crusade was declared and a similar Jihad faction that would be created for the other time. I dunno though, could be fun.

    How is progress on Pre9 coming?

    I posted a timeline of sword development somewhere. Falchion was an evolution of seax. They were heavier and often unbalanced versions of short swords. Simpler and cheaper to make they developed into cutlass and were used in the same fashion. You could thrust them, but the length means you must be pretty close. The slashing action plus its weight is where it excelled.
    Definitely outfit some lower tier troops with it, it was used outside of combat as a farming/clearing implement.
    You can up the cutting damage if you want, but keep the pierce damage low
    but I must say that you should definitely up the cutting damage of scimitars. Because of the curved blade they had a much larger cutting surface while only a small part of the blade was making the contact initially.

    Looting and ransomming wise, it's wasted, but... All that XP and renown :drool:
    It was actually impossible to win. You start the fight with 11 vs 180, and archers can only shoot so fast. Your mount gets shot out from under you in like 20 secs and you get swarmed. Plus the damn rebel leaders are outfitted in plate.
    Rebels started in wales, wiped out longshanks army, then pretty much raped every english lord until splitting up into 500 men armies. Thats when they were all put down :smile:

    Probably mentioned before... when in combat and pressing escape to adjust setting or to pause, when unpaused the radar map disappears and the unit counts on the bottom left do as well

    Ehhh that I was kidding, you can't imitate the fluidity of movement from real life into warband. They wont look as smooth and I wouldn't want anyone to even attempt. 1257 team has a ton to still work on, flashy animations could be in 1257 AD Expansion pack  :grin:
