Confirmed. I actually just reported this bug elsewhere before I noticed this thread (SORRY!). This is definitely a problem for us horse archers.

My game freezes after the latest update. Every few minutes it just completely freezes and I have to close it with task manager. It is unplayable at this point. Please help.

I agree fully. Also I second anything that makes the humble spearman more effective at doing his job: Countering cavalry.
