How to find a Lady ?

Hello.  I took another quest to defend some lady's honor.  I have noticed that on the quest page, when I click on Lady Anna's name, there is no info available for ladies, it just takes me to the (male) characters page, to the top of the list. I don't remember where I was when I took this quest...

    Weekly Cost --?

thanks for the reply.  I guess I could've sat down and done the research (finding troop costs) and then the math,  and figured out if it was accurate to the new numbers... but you replied and I didn't have to!  Thanks.

Hmm, interesting signature quote.  Of all the good lines from that movie, I wonder about your choice...  that is a cool scene though...  opens up the idea of alienation from your peers simply because they don't want to think about stuff.

    Weekly Cost --?

I am playing .894 (just downloaded .903 but haven't started) but I am wondering about the strange discrepancy in the weekly cost of my party and their actual wages. On the party page, my weekly cost is listed at something like 742 denars.  At the end of every week,  I have been paying over 2000...

    equipping arrows during battle

Sorry if this is a little off topic but it looked like I might find an answer here...

I ran out of crossbow bolts while besieging a castle, and that was ok, since I had used up two large bags, and was ready to storm the castle and pick up a dropped weapon from one of the many dead and go to work with some melee combat.

Now, ever since that battle, whenever I begin a new battle, I have to load my crossbow with the first bolt.  Before that battle, it always came pre-loaded with the first bolt.  It is mildly annoying...

    Any thoughts on this?

    Experience earned for killing enemies.

As I was pondering the "exp for killing yourself" problem (fascinating, really)  I remembered this post I put into the screenshots thread, here is a section:

A weird bug in Band of Warriors...  While defending Czegny Keep, I chose to be an archer on the walls for every battle.  Every time, about 5 to 10 seconds into the battle, there would be this "jump" or "glitch" and all of sudden I am standing next to myself.  There is just a frozen copy of my character standing there in whatever pose I was in when the "glitch" struck.  When I face him, it displays my character name, but without the option to "talk".  I knocked him out once, he just stands there.  He even served as a decoy when one of the enemy archers started shooting at him.

But even there, it would say "you hit a friendly troop!" and it was funny to see it finally say "Hupchick Jones knocked out by Hupchick Jones"  (that is, obviously, my characters name in this particular game.

    no exp, though...

    Experience earned for killing enemies.

Well, Ive knocked myself unconscious before.

Usually after getting stuck in some weird spot running/jumping around town.  I end up on top of some fence post and I can't get off and eventually my character takes like 178 damage and falls unconscious.

    But no exp.

Even if you went into battle with Marnid and Borcha, made a note of their exp, then somehow got them to shoot you in the head, it would only be like when you hit a friendly troop for the kill/KO...

    no exp.

Hmm that puzzle is intriguing, but I immediately think unsolvable.  Perhaps in recruit from prisoners mod you might be able to do something like, save your game, fight a battle, making sure that party has one single type of enemy that is only one guy.  Take the single enemy prisoner, recruit him, look at his stats.  Then go back to the save point, and enter battle again, find that soldier on the battlefield and let him KO you.  Come back to battle, KO that soldier, take him prisoner, recruit him, look at his stats.  Compare the difference in Exp...  which might be changing every level you are at.

I don't think exp really works the same for non-hero characters though, and that procedure I just imagined is ridiculously improbable.

Anyways, I think Dranton would maybe be worth more out of the Arena.  I would bet that Sword Sisters and Hired Blades are worth more  on the battlefield, too.

Why don't my horse ever get killed (or stolen)?

I once rode into battle on a crippled horse.

    Actually twice.

    No, three times....

Ok actually almost every time my horse is
    crippled,
I ride into the next battle on it.

    Not on purpose.
    I often find myself
    immediately retreating to re-do inventory.
Caught in the moment, I always "charge the enemy"
    and become stymied
when my charge is soooo slow.

But yes, horses become crippled, and then die.
Spirited Chargers (or any other horse) become lame when crippled.
When they heal, they are just "Charger".

    Ouch.

Why don't I ever get killed or kit stolen?

    I like calandale's style.

    But dying, well, that's overrated.

I like the option.  If you need somebody to impose
    restrictions
    and obligations
on you, buy a puppy, have a baby, or live real life.
In video game world I like my options to stay
true and die like a hero OR my option to
keep the game going, like a hero still....

Amongst those options I have to admit I would like
to be able to turn on some harder penalties for losing.
I agree that the single option of losing nothing
(except for whatever army you have already lost)
    is kinda limiting/lame.

You can choose to volunteer your own penalties , but who really does that??

(no really, I like calandale's style.
Mimicry is the highest form of flattery.
    Anyone seen "Single White Female?")

    Experience earned for killing enemies.

OK.  So nobody has a link to a list or chart, that's cool.  Somehow this thread got up to a dozen or so posts.

I was not trying to be mean (or I guess I probably was at the time) but I like to try and encourage people to think before they post and sometimes that energy is tainted with a little frustration, sorry.  I just figure that in a video game, everyone (even a newbie) knows more difficult enemies mean more points and telling me that as if I would not know that is almost insulting my intelligence.  Anybody who can figure out how to post on a forum (let alone one based on a video game) knows that much...  I can agree that he could have been trying to be helpful, but Masacru may have taken a moment to really read my post ("I know generally which enemies are highest and lowest") and think about whether his contribution was really necessary.  "Harder enemies is more points" is hardly helpful in this case.  Thanks anyways though, I really should not try to be so mean to people whose reaction is to try to be helpful, whether they think too hard about it or not.

Anyways, the other posts were just ripple-effect reactions to my harsh over-reaction, except for the posts saying I could make the list myself.  Which is kind of like the alternative obvious answer.

    and VOILA!

....I have now created a list of experience points earned for individual enemies killed.  albeit however incomplete, and so far limited to the enemies you encounter in Native, hence the absence of Swadian Sharpshooters, Brigands, and such.

I still haven't figured and doubt if I will soon, how the group experience works in moments like right after a battle when the experience is flashing by on your screen...  it may depend on the ratio of soldiers you entered battle with.  (More experience for defeating more overwhelming odds?) or I've noticed it may also increase with each consecutive battle until you finally re-enter a city?  It is definitely based on the individual experience value of killing the enemies involved, but I have not even figured out HOW related it is to each individual kill.  Is the number that pops up after a battle simply a sum total of all the kills made in the battle?  I dunno!

Here is what I got so far:

Um, no I am not completely sure on this but I don't think that the experience for killing one single enemy varies from game to game or level to level.  And even if it does, I don't think that Masacru's post was just another way of saying that at all.  Even that little bit is reading a whole lot into nothing.

    and Gregor Eisenhorn,
yeah, actually making such a list wouldnt be all that difficult, you almost make it sound more difficult with your arithmetically inclined "record change in experience" when you can just watch the screen when you kill an enemy for the exact number...
...I was just hoping in the vast reaches of human history and knowledge that is this series of tubes we call the internets, that somebody mighta already done it, and what better place to casually inquire than a forum created for almost just that purpose?  And maybe I just will make that chart... if nobody hooks me up with one soon...

    Experience earned for killing enemies.

Man I can't believe I logged on just to read that bull****.

I said I have a general idea of enemy value.  I've played my fair share of Mount & Blade.  I just have never compiled an accurate list of experience earned values and was specifically asking for access to more detailed information.  Are you just trying to be funny?

You don't even have to ever have played this game to know what you just told me.  "Harder enemies give you more points" is pretty much a standard way of doing it.  You have basically used up your post and my time to say absolutely nothing of any worth.  Thanks.  Oh you bumped your post count up by one, that's pretty sweet, I guess.  If I was feeling more ornery I'd probably go look at your post history and quietly mutter to myself but typing these words is about as much time as I care to waste responding to your post that says nothing but maybe "look at me" between the lines.

    Experience earned for killing enemies.

I recently found myself wondering about the various enemies I could fight and kill and how much experience each one gives.  I have a few that I remember, and I know generally which enemies are the highest and lowest value, but would be interested in seeing a compiled list or chart.  Anyone...

Kidnapped Girl has reached level 11! Now thats 9 upgrade points, kids.
