  1. trying to start my own country

    It's actually pretty easy. Pick the keep you wish to take over. Once the initial keep is yours you simply wait. When the lords come charging in to knock down your door simply talk with one of them who doesn't hate you. All you need is 0 rep with just one lord and about 60k thaler to bribe him to smooth things over with the faction. They will all stop the siege, you can then use this time to gather your strength.

    I like doing this when theirs a lord I don't like, whenever I see him with his army I'll destroy him take him captive and bribe a friend from the same faction to smooth things over. I can teach the lord not to be an ass and still remain neutral.  :mrgreen:

    Also starting combat with a lord you don't like only lowers your standing with them and -3 to their faction, even if say 3 or 4 other lords join in the combat you can decimate them all and only the one guy will resent you for it. In this example the cost for such an action is around 700-2k thaler.

    I find that there is a fairly significant drawback to obtaining a Chamberlain.  Once you do, you do not receive money in the field anymore.  This is a problem is you are operating a significant distance from your castle, village or town.  You may have 90,000 denars in your account, but say you are across the country and have only 5 denars, then you are S.O.L unless you trek all the way back home and manually retrieve more denars.  However, pre-chamberlain, you are able to pay for whatever is needed on the fly.  I see this as a pretty serious disadvantage.

    Perhaps there could be a way to have all or a percentage of your denars couriored out to your location. (such as when your ransomed companions find you in the field).

    Thought some possible solutions,

    1> Have your weekly budget withdraw from your coffer automatically.

    2> Purchases from merchants could work up a tab depending on your honor rating and renown.

    3> You could also send a pigeon messenger requesting a courier bring you a designated sum from your coffer. An option to hire soldiers to accompany your messenger could be added as well. This would be to ensure the money makes it to you, also you would have to decide how many to accompany your messenger and their pay would be deducted from your coffers.
  3. Expansion / Multiplayer suggestion thread

    I would like to see some sort of tournament feature, where you can compete over a span of several events. Jousting, sword fighting, archery, etc on a ladder match against your friends. I would also like to see some sort of achievements to earn , statistics saved to your character, such as damage, wins losses, etc and online character you can upgrade and improve through online play only. Earn award money through competitions, gear out your character, improve weapons, armor, etc.

    Sword Fighting 1 vs 1
    Tournaments - ( Ladder Elimination ) Compete against a bunch of players and npcs, 1 vs 1 matches slowly eliminating your competitions as you progress through the ladder. Winner takes the trophy.

    Statistics - Keep track of wins ,losses, draws ( both knock each other out ) Hardest hit with Bow, Sword, Polearm, etc Keep track of accuracy for ranged. hit %

    Archery Contests - Compete against other people shooting at ranged targets on a point system per hit and location of hit on target.

    Last Man Standing - Throw a bunch of people in the arena and everyone goes at it

    Teams Match - 2 vs 2 , 3 vs 3, 4 vs 4, 5 vs 5

    Team Tournament - Enroll in a 2 vs 2, 3 vs 3, 4 vs 4 , 5 vs 5 tournament ladder elimination. You and a partner fight against other people and their partners, last one left wins the trophy.


  5. Magic Mod: Curtain of Fire. Help me get it released! See first post.

    I am having the same problem, played the game for 8 hours, visited every shop, killed every guy I came across and I never once saw a single wizard or any magic being used. I also didn't see the sorcerer class that was claimed to be available in character creation. Sounds like a cool mod but something must of been changed in the latest version that messed it up.

    As for spells,

    Raise dead , maybe a spell that raises the people who died in combat. You could limit it to target bodies or raise anyone within a certain range of you, or just raise them all.

    Haste , a spell that increases your run speed to mount speed for a 30-45 seconds.

    Evac , A spell that lets you escape any fight , even if enemies are nearby.

    Deaths Embrace , a spell that kills whoever it hits, or you could make a spell that kills everyone around you within a few feet.

    Leap , A spell that increases your jumping distance and height so you can jump large distances , like over rivers and such.

    Oh and did you ever think about using the different attack directions to cast spells. So each direction you attack with the staff will cast a different spell. So you could assign multiple spells to each item.

    Also for the sorcerer class you could make it so the players unarmed hand attacks could cast spells perhaps. In each direction he motions his hand he does a different spell, and you could bring this further by maybe the gear he equips. For instance you could make gloves that when equipped, change the spells cast by his unarmed hand gestures. So the player could customize their spell base by their gear equipped.
