    Fantastic thread/work here. I've used a good handful of these myself (quest timers, cattle following, wine/ale = consumables and other tweaks). One little feature I'd love, and I hope it's a simple one, is a way to reduce the frequency of bandit spawns (sea raiders, mountain/forest/steppe bandits, looters) - so emptying out an area of these groups has a bit more of a lasting effect. Any chance of such a text file tweak? Would it perhaps be in the triggers file somewhere, the spawn rates?

    Siege defense question...

    I too have been kicked back to the map screen after the first skirmish when defending a castle from overwhelming numbers.

    If the castle is already currently under siege, or does not belong to a faction you are enemies with, you won't have the siege option.

    From what I recall of it (I'll keep repeating that this is all a while back and my memory may be hazy and muddled with what the game is like now...), the peasants/farmers etc. you "freed" set a destination for a random village, much like the random farmer groups in the game do now, and they'd head there and then "disappear". It just felt like a nice bit of extra immersion to the game and didn't mean there were an ever-increasing number of these random freed prisoner groups everywhere... just a bit more fun than the new & current method of making them "vanish" instantly, instead of the much cooler spawning them on the map when freed and seeing the people you just freed run to the nearest town (and it was possible they got re-captured in-between, so you might sometimes feel responsible for them and march back to whatever town they were heading to with them to make sure they got home safely!).

    I remember it was version .601 the first time I played, back in around March/April of 2005, so it's possible it was removed a loooong time ago :sad: I'm still really sure it did happen and I haven't just imagined it, but hopefully somebody else who played back in '05/early '06 can remember if prisoners, once freed (once their captors were killed by you and you didn't hire them), formed their own group on the map or not... (and I wonder if anyone knows how to mod that [back] in... because it was/would be cool)

    Yes that's what happens now, but in (much?) earlier versions, I am sure that they used to form their own independant group wandering the map once they were freed (eg once you killed their captors). Anyone who's played versions dating way back, can you remember if I'm right about this, and if so, when & why it was removed!?

    Battle winning cheer

    I personally want some sort of horn when I issue the order for my men to "charge". Especially playing "The Last Days" mod as a rider of Rohan (using Javelins to relive the moment the Riders wipe out the Uruk's just outside the forest of Fanghorn).... would definitely add to the atmosphere to have some sort of horn-call as all my fellow Riders of Rohan storm in!

    There's something "pleasing" about using a large double-handed warhammer or battle axe... not sure what it is! :twisted:
