Snapping to the edges of the faces?
  2. Modding Q&A [For Quick Questions and Answers]

    Few questions:

Are there any particular conditions that the strategic map mesh and/or the terrain textures (modded) need to meet in order for the terrain texture blending (the fade from type to type) to work properly?

How does the snow-capped effect work for mountains? If I have a map with a drastically larger variation in the Z-axis than native will that present a problem?

All the map meshes I've looked at both native and modded have all been pretty "regular" in the size and arrangement of faces. Looking at the wire-frame, other than the notable (if barely) exclusions of rivers and ridges, the mesh is very grid-like. Is there a reason for that? Or is it totally fine for your ocean to be 3 gigantic faces in the middle and 3,000 faces making up the coast?
Finding answers to strategic map questions is difficult because of the overlap with "mount and blade strategy" pages and a million-and-one scene tutorials

    Thanks!

What are the engines limits (even soft ones) for the strategic map? Faces/vertices/size/etc. Is there a limit on the number of factions? Number of lords? Or is it simply that ridiculous numbers in any of the above kill performance
  4. Modding Q&A [For Quick Questions and Answers]

Before I start meddling to no avail (I'm still pretty inexperienced in M&B modding), would it even be POSSIBLE to create split kingdoms? Something like: Kingdom X is ruled by the faction Clan A, where Clan B, and C, are also constituents of X. Members of B and C act identically to members of A when it comes to things like defense of territory, feasts, orders from the marshal, etc. The territory of Kingdom X would be made up of the holding of all three Clans and labeled as such. However, Clans B and C also retain the possibility of deserting as a group, kind of like individual Lords can. In an ideal world, B and C would have the ability to desert as a group to another kingdom, or begin operating independently as their own kingdom when they desert, bringing the territory they owned with them.

It's pretty far-fetched sounding in my opinion, and sounds incredibly vulnerable to extreme bugginess; But if such a thing is possible using the module system, I'd like to see what I can try with it, even if just a fraction of what I'm asking for could work. If it's worth anything, the mod I'm building is using Floris as its base.
