hmm ragdolling is something I suggested to Armagan - I could have easily done it - but he said the custom animation format he used would make things very difficult.

nope - I'm using cs 2 - make sure it's installed in the cs 2/plugins directory - that's what most commonly goes wrong!

Cataphract: Yeah, that was the problem. I tried to send Armagan a beer and it got spilt by his router and leaked in his modem... And if you think that's bad you should see what happened when he sent a chick through the modem... she was a mess when she arrived.

I'll certainly be around - I'm currently waiting to see what Armagan throws out with these mod tools - I think there's plenty of scope for graphical enhancements from the whole community - as many of you have already shown - and it does impress me how quick you are at decoding the game files! I'm going to try and help Armagan with editors, mod tutorials etc - it'll be far easier to work that way and take the game forward.

Let's wait and see what happens.

aye there's no real limit, Armagan's tested levels with 100,000 polys in total and there wasn't a great slowdown. HOWEVER! 1000 polys for a shield is very very high! I've been modelling swords for Armagan and most are between 100-300 polys. So for even quite a complicated shield you shouldn't be looking at more than 150 I'd say?

Well we're currently planning on making each city unique - so you'll be able to go sightseeing should you wish!

It's really just a wait and see job - we'll do as much as possible to make it nice and varied!

It might be nice as you said as a sign of a really hard hit or when you blow a potentially very hard hit - if Armagan's lurking I'm sure he'll throw his two cents in on how easy it'd be.

I wouldn't put it as a huge priority as there's tons of more interesting things to be doing - hopefully you'll enjoy some of the new sword models I've been doing! But ideas like these can be added to later 'fine tuning' stages...

hmm it's a nice idea Kamamura - probably be best to leave it open to the more knowledgeable forumites to discuss (more knowledgeable than me that is!) and decide whether such a thing could happen - it would no doubt look good to have the occasional spark and Armagan's engine could certainly support it - Ingolifs reckons it wouldn't happen... Any yays or nays in support?

you're quite right checkmaty - good examples by the way - I've already started playing with the pixel shaders - that'll definitely be something I'll move on to - I have suggested helping with the animations - but Armagan's used an in house bones structure so it's not easily compatible with standard animation formats - eg .bvh - .csv etc... I'll certainly have a look though once the editor arrives!

aye keep trying - you've got to be really really fast - maybe you'll need to upgrade your mouse...

oh I know why, there's no mystery there as Armagan's told me. If you click the d3d logo it opens all the mod tools, game editor and extra in game cheats - try it. Don't worry if it keeps moving away from the mouse arrow - just keep trying really hard and eventually you'll catch it... even if it takes you several hours....

hmm I must say I'm surprised at how many have high-speed connections - maybe we're just a bit backward in the uk - though broadband's fast becoming the norm here too...
