  1. What is your preferred type of melee weapon?

My favourite is definitely a spear, the longer the better.

If I'm one-on-one on foot I'll draw my sword but in all other situations it's spear time baby. I'll be there with my pike from 3 meters away waiting for you to lower your guard while you fight with my teammate. Step in, poke, step back, repeat.

+ there's nothing more satisfying than someone who comes at you all superior and stuff with his charger, coat of arms and imba-lance and then just gets stopped by a guy with a stick.
  2. A tribute to Fawzia dokhtar-i-Sanjar

I just ordered Warband and checked the forums to see how the PoP mod was doing... been a while since I've been here...

    I am truly shocked.

I had but a few conversations with Fawzia, yet reading this left me completely speechless.

My tears surprise me as I write this; I have never experienced the death of a fellow forumite...

You will truly be in my thoughts as I walk across the lands you helped create. Rest in peace, Mason.
  3. POP 3 Cheats - Warning: May spoil or crash your game!

Easiest way to get the equipment you want is to add them to the starting list of equipment for your character.

That requires you to start a new game though.
  4. D'Shar Djaha archers

    Ah well, thanks then.

I have played this mod for quite a while (unaltered even!), it's just that I never came across the Djaha Archers.

Some players love to customize their playing experience as much as they can by doing tweaks, house rules and whatever their gaming quirks tell them to.

Haha, oh yeah that's me. I can have a saved game where I've played for weeks and then suddenly come across a unit that has a quirky helmet and I just can't keep on playing without editing it...
  5. D'Shar Djaha archers

@Fawzia: Oh don't mind me and my little endeavours. You don't see me whining in the bugs thread or anything so I don't need a lecture.

I have fun with your mod. How I have fun is nothing you can govern, and it's not like I'm gonna release "Prophesy of Pendor: ADRIUSALIZED" and steal all your players or anything hmm...  *whistles*
  6. D'Shar Djaha archers

Ah well, I'll just start over again. No biggie.

I've screwed PoP up more times than I can count. Only mentioned it this time cuz it was a kinda hilarious failure on my part
  7. D'Shar Djaha archers

    Holy ****.

I thought they were just a left-over troop from older versions so I turned them into über strong Demonic Crusaders with Dire Axes and **** just for added fun for the Death Cultists.

You telling me there's a D'shar lord running around with many of these guys in my current saved game?

    Mother of god...
  8. Preferred Weapons

@Bunduqdari: Not at all boring. I've never killed faster than I've done with my tweaked spear (relax resident flamers, I am not cheater-who-thinks-he's-badass... the southern glaive is still utterly superior in basically everything and the Knight's Lance and Honor Lance still beats the Iron Spear's range heavily)

You're right though, even if I've tweaked the stats of the Black Iron Spear to be slightly better it's still not very trustworthy on the ground. However, I've begun using a certain technique that makes it very hard for melee troops to hit me.

What I do is that instead of charging directly at my enemy with the spear, I turn to the left a few metres before I reach them and then hit the enemy with the spear's full length while extending my arm straight to the right of my horse, my spear hits the enemy as they pass on the right side of the horse.
I lose a whole lot of speed bonus this way, but since I don't rush straight towards the enemy I don't get caught in any of the usual horse-traps (e.g, being blocked and then getting the horse slashed while it passes the enemy, or getting the horse stabbed in the front and stopping completely)

However... there are of course pesky archers and people who throw stuff at me... if I get dehorsed then I usually block with my shield and walk backwards towards support troops like the chicken I am. I don't often get dehorsed though.
If there are only a couple of enemies I put my shield away and go 2-handed Iron Spear. Feels pretty badass but risky as hell.
  9. POP 3 Cheats - Warning: May spoil or crash your game!

Well I didn't state that everybody reads the FAQ... I simply said that warning people who post in the cheats thread is kinda obsolete... especially considering that Fawzia has already mentioned all the warnings and stuff in the first post.
  10. Preferred Weapons

    Field combat
Black Iron Spear (edited to have slightly lower stats than the Southern Glaive, I really like its looks. Otherwise I had used the Southern Glaive)
    Knightly Kite Shield
    Light Crossbow
    Bolts

Siege (Attack and Defense) + Village fights
    Polehammer
    Siege Crossbow
    Bolts
    Bolts

    And that's pretty much it.
  11. POP 3 Cheats - Warning: May spoil or crash your game!

Damn you guys are quick to point at the FAQ. It's almost like you take for granted that people haven't read it...

We're in the cheats thread, all the warnings are already stated in the first post. We know that we might **** up the game.
  12. POP 3 Cheats - Warning: May spoil or crash your game!

Thanks, but the thing is, editing the parties so that they often spawn with that many prisoners will break the game in the long run.

I only want to give myself a headstart and then play like normal. Skip the early game and jump right into conquering castles and building a kingdom

There must be a line somewhere where the troops given from Salty are written... that'd be the optimal way to solve it; Just edit the easter egg.
  13. POP 3 Cheats - Warning: May spoil or crash your game!

Right, so here's the deal: I like to fight big armies with big armies, that's what is fun in PoP for me. The early game really doesn't appeal to me anymore.

Getting a whole bunch of elite troops quickly ain't that hard, just teleport around a bit, recruit and hit Ctrl+X like crazy to level 'em up. But I happen to like Pendor troops (my edited badass version that is, Troop Editor is addicting as hell), and to get Pendor troops you either have to rescue prisoners or create a kingdom and get a bunch of villages. Takes too fricking long... I want big-ass army nauw!

So... any way to edit the starting party? Like, when I start a new game I get a whole bunch of troops added automatically?

    Or perhaps I could...
Edit the type of troops gained when I give the old man the salt? I think that would be the easiest way
  14. training elite troop

Hmotak ain't a total noob who haven't read the FAQ yet it seems...

Getting Farmers when trying to recruit Nobles has happened to me too, but ONLY when I haven't proclaimed an independent kingdom and chosen my culture yet (and because of that the mod doesn't know what kinda nobles to give me, I figure).

Either it's a rare bug, or simply that people are so hasty with proclaiming an independent kingdom that it's never been noticed.
  15. M&B ONLY -Prophesy of Pendor 3.x FOR M&B V 1.011 - Consolidated Bug Reports

@Dan: The Marleons Heavy Cavalry has 0 riding skill too. However, the Empire Knights have a guaranteed Horse box checked, which apparently "forces" them to be mounted on a horse regardless of their riding skill (I bet asking them to de-mount and then re-mount will be unsuccessful.)

If the Marleons Cavalry are lucky enough to spawn with a horse in their inventory, I'm not sure if they can even use it due to their insufficient riding skill and lack of guaranteed horse, but it's very easily fixed with the Troop Editor even for an amateur like me

I mess around with almost every troopline anyway, which is the reason why I noticed the problem.

And yes, you have to start a new game for the changes to kick in.
