    You can split and merge formations on the battlefield. However, what you are asking would be problematic, because there are 2 types of AI during battle: individual troop AI and formation AI. If you make a formation that is half infantry and half archers, I would imagine that the formation AI would not work as well.

    Still, this is something you can try in Custom Battles. Split your infantry and Archery formations in half and merge them together to create hybrids and see how they perform.
    This is functionality I was unaware of. I would prefer not to have to do it at the start of every battle though

    What makes them decide to declare war currently?
    I would put money on it being a purely random dice roll, maybe some weight from the kingdoms proximity but not enough to stop sturgia and aserai from being at war close to the start of the some of my games

    It doesn't exist and I'm not sure it should, micro-managing your troops to such an extent seems like overkill to me.
    What if I want two equivalent groups of cavalry on either flank? That doesn't seem very micro intensive at all. I feel like half the people play this game purely by charging all of their troops in at once.

    So if you TAB in battle, all your remaining Troops leave the battle and surivie and you just walk of?!?
    No, but the enemy has to close the distance to your Fians for a second time.

    I wish you could at least create mini armies from just your clan parties. I agree with some random merc not being able to lead the lords of the realm but I really cant get the boys together to go take that poorly defended fief?

    Change of the World ( Warband integration)

    It sounds pretty cool but I don't think this is something you need in the base game. I know it's supposed to be Calradia 200 years before Warband but that's quickly forgotten while playing on the significantly different map.

    Companion smith warrior?

    They might be on a template but there's definitely some variation. I got a smith companion who has 5 end and 10 vig, strangely enough he didn't have a focus point in smithing with 60 skill. Also none of his melee stats were below 100.

    Convertible XP from kills

    If there was a skill you never use, why would you bother increasing it?
    I was specifically thinking of Charm, it's a skill you WILL use, but are unlikely to get points in until much later in the game since you can really only level it by spending influence or releasing lords.
    When you lay out the numbers it doesn't look too OP, and you can rationalize it like your character is reading up on the skill or something. But in that case why not just have skill books you can buy to passively level up a skill?
    I think the problem you're addressing is certainly real, but I kinda like where they went with the skill system, it's just got a very unfinished feel at the moment.

    Convertible XP from kills

    I'm a little mixed on this. On one hand its a way to level up skills that are currently borderline impossible to level. On the other hand I could somehow get a character with extremely high levels in a skill that I've never actually used.
    I think once they flesh out the actions you can take to level certain skills, and fix bugs related to actions granting XP, the current system is capable of working well.
    I do think they should bring back shared XP after battles though. I find that my high tier units end up stealing all the kills and my low tier troops take forever to upgrade.
