When selecting urban artisan as family trade you do not then get to the corresponding urban options later in the character creation, only the urban traders do.

The urban artisan is described thusly ' your family owned their own workshop in the city, making goods from raw materials brought in from the countryside. Your father played an active if minor role in the town council, and also served in the militia.'

It would add a nice unique touch to the sturgian playthrough options, allowing for interesting smithing chatacter builds.

This seems like an oversight to me, am I wrong?

They should probably revamp the whole thing and culture perks now that they know what all the perks will actually do and what the game play is.

I don't think playthrough options or builds exist in this game at all: you can choose to play badly, waste more time and have useless perks, but this doesn't change the gameplay even the slightest.
