A quick note concerning the Vlandian noble line; new shoulder items were JUST added for the vlandians, and it's rather unsightly that the noble line don't have proper shoulder armor. It might be pertinent to swap that out ASAP if you could please, it's been a withstanding dream of mine that my favorite culture gets some decent shoulder armor

Vlandian Footman no longer upgrades into Vlandian Infantry (Tier 5 infantry will be isolated in order to be removed from the game)
There is a confusing typo here, so confusing that I thought Vlandian Sergeants got removed for a second.
It should be Tier 3 (Vlandian) Infantry, not Tier 5.

Nice changes coupled with the new trade goods prices, I was hoping for some updates regarding the Imperial Elite Infantry not being able to throw their Pilums. Oh well, time for another Vlandia campaign.

A little disappointing that the only change hired blades and mercenary swordsmen had were the helmets, the rest of their armor could have done with some improvements.

in on this one. That new mail shoulderpiece should for sure be on the champions and banner knights! Simple, but effective.

Indeed, it's a typo. Thanks. Fixed to:

  • Added 14 new heads and 5 new handles which can be used for the creation of two-handed maces in the smithy. 10 two-handed maces, created out of these pieces have also been added to the marketplace and various troops (Bandits, Aserai Mameluke Guard, Aserai Mameluke Palace Guard, Sturgian Line Breaker).
The patch notes noted that 10 two-handed maces were added to some troops, but I can't find them here. What's wrong?

I'm not really sure where to ask so I'll ask here, have there been any changes to what damage type axes inflict? I might have massively misunderstood but I thought that they did a mix of damage (cutting plus some blunt?) but I can't even remember where I heard that.
I'm asking because 2 handed axes seem to be completely inferior to 2 H swords against most troops. If they're unarmoured peasants then the axe is good for cleaving through mobs but generally a high tier sword seems to do more damage than the highest tier axes. I know armour has been reworked in 1.8 which has been great, but it seems like the best slashing swords are somehow the best anti-armour weapons now which is a little sad.

Axes do cutting damage, but are able to cleave through at least two enemies with one strike and are more effective against shields. You can also craft two handed maces, which should offer the best bang for your buck against heavy armor.

IDK why but I always thought that weapons in BL did a mix of damage types. Very sad
Also I think stabby damage needs a buff for swords, with pierce damage not being so effective vs armour and stabs doing so much less damage than cuts there is no reason to use thrusts apart from it looking cool occasionally. I should probably find the feedback thread

If I remember right, it's less that different weapon types do different mixes of cut/pierce/blunt, but more that a percentage of Cut damage is treated like Blunt versus armor and a different percentage of Pierce damage is treated like Blunt versus armor?

@Dejan : Can anybody from the Bannerlord development team comment on why the top tier troops FREQUENTLY have inferior armour and weapons to the tier(s) below them?
I have noticed that almost every faction's top tier troops in some area are inferiorly equipped to the tier below them. Is this an intentional programming decision to make the top tier more vulnerable? I do notice when I review combat deaths that almost always, the very top tier suffers the highest combat mortalities. This seems counterproductive to the effort and cost to upgrade them. It would seem intuitive that lower tier troops SHOULD suffer highest combat mortalities, they are not called "cannon fodder" for nothing. And "the strong shall survive" etc.
Looking forward to your comments. I can easily provide examples to prove my comments.
