Bush Wookie Gaming is proud to sponsor the Bannerlord Skirmish League! With the test release of Battle Mode, Bannerlord has experienced a large spike in activity, with several new clans being formed. As such, we hope that this skirmish league can offer these new and former existing clans an opportunity to experience competitive Bannerlord play. Our goal is to provide an enjoyable experience for all clans and to bring the North American community together with this league.

Administration

[VK] LES IS MOREx
[PSFC] FearSpear
[NATO] Crusader

Each clan leader is expected to read, understand, and relay league rules to their clan members. Clans are held accountable for rule infractions by their clan members.

Bush Wookie Gaming maintains the right not to allow the attendance of any clan along with the right to remove any clan from the list of participants at any phase during league play. Removing a clan requires an extraordinary set of circumstances which are determined by internal administrator criteria including, but not limited to: repeated flagrant rule infractions, excessively long scheduling delays, or grossly negative toxicity intended to undermine or disrupt the tournament experience of others. In the rare event a clan is barred from attendance or removed from participation, a statement shall be made by the administration detailing why such action was taken.

Each team must declare a Captain and Co-Captain that are both able to handle scheduling matches for their team.

Participating teams shall consist of 6 main players and 3 substitute players. Team captains must specify who is a substitute and who is on the main lineup.

Rosters posted in the signup should be considered final. Only in extenuating circumstances shall roster changes be considered. All requests for roster changes must be approved by the administration and shall be considered on a case by case basis.

This season of BSL shall be conducted in a “double elimination” tournament format. Bracket position will be determined by a “seeding” process. Due to a lack of any type of current organized team competitive play to draw match results from, “seed” order shall be internally determined by theorization from veteran Bannerlord competitive players.

A league week will commence on Sundays and every team must play their round by the following Sunday before midnight. In optimal circumstances, League rounds will be played consecutively every week upon commencement of the league, until the league is finished. Special extensions or other scheduling considerations may be given if properly requested (to an admin member) and agreed upon by both teams. Ultimately, the admin team has the final say on all scheduling, and excessive delays will not be tolerated.

League rounds shall be played as a best of three maps. These three maps are revealed at the start of the league week and are determined internally by administration. Each map will have predetermined faction matchups which shall be revealed concurrently with the map reveal at the start of the league week.

In a league round, opposing teams shall play the week’s three maps during the league week at a scheduled time. Each team shall pick a faction they first wish to play, although this is trivial because factions and their corresponding spawn shall be swapped. Thus, one map will consist of two skirmish games, and the victor of a map shall be the team which accumulates the most in-game rounds between these two games. If there is a round draw on a map, opposing teams shall move on to the other two maps, with one point of “map score” being awarded to both teams. In the incredibly unlikely but possible event of an outright draw across all three maps, a sudden-death (faction) mirror match shall be played, with the map and faction being determined by the administration. The victor of this mirror match tiebreaker shall win the set with a 4-3 map score.

At the end league, prize money shall be awarded in the following amounts:

1st Place: $600
2nd Place: $300 (Special thanks to Matt the Lord for funding the second place prize)
3rd Place: $150

Captains/Co-captains of these placing teams will coordinate with head tournament admin Les is MoreX in order to most conveniently and quickly distribute prize winnings.

Prize winnings shall only be distributed upon successful conclusion of the tournament without any exceptional external disruptions.

It is the expressed desire of Bush Wookie Gaming to simplify the tournament experience for participants by having a short and simple rule list. Many other tournaments have multiple pages of rules and sub-rules, many of which are redundant, wordy, or created simply to appease a beastly over-bloated bureaucracy. As such, here are all five rules and regulations necessary to facilitate this season's Bannerlord Skirmish League.

  1. Participating players must only come from your officially registered roster.
All teams must submit a 6 man roster with 3 substitute players in order to participate. As stated under “Administration”, roster changes must be approved by a tournament admin in order to be recognized.
  2. A member from each clan must stream the match.
This should be recorded and streamed on discord/twitch to an admin or moderator in order to assure fair gameplay by both sides.
  3. Class Limits
No more than two archer and two cavalry classes by a team at any one point during a round. Horse archer classes count as a cavalry class. Class limits are universal across all of recent competitive skirmish tournaments and leagues due to the current imbalance of the current classes. If class limits are broken, the round shall be forfeit by the offending team. Forfeiting a round requires the players of the offending team to immediately die without resistance and forfeit any additional spawns.
4. Crashes
In the event that a player crashes before the FIRST round of a map begins, the side of the crashed player can call a reset by the captain or co-captain saying “Re or Restart” in the chat. Any reset after round one must be approved by a onlooking administrator.
5. Be respectful.
Participants are expected to be respectful and professional to their fellow participants and administration at all times. If issues arise from excessive toxicity, please report said issues to the administration.

Is LES reformed now... or is he still a rigging, cheating, scammer?

I can't help but notice that there is no rule against impersonating and playing for another team... you'd think it might be worth adding given that he himself has done it in his own tournament in the past. I can't help but think that he purposefully left it out so he can do it again, and then claim that there is no rule against it :ohdear:

I'd also recommend that the prize money be put in the hands of a trustworthy member of the community, so that LES can't just decide not to pay out the prize pool if a team he doesn't like ends up winning the tournament.

Who else is on the admin team? Will there be an individual or group of individuals with the power to veto any potential shenanigan's LES randomly tries to enforce halfway through the tournament?

who cares, its a tourny for money, dont really see anyone hosting tournys like this ever

Considering the finals match of BSL 1 didn't even get played, and LES pulled his money out of BSL 2 because he got himself banned from the forums due to racism, people should probably care a little bit about how BSL 3 will be run if what they are looking for is a legitimately run tournament with a guaranteed payout by the end of it.

I will watch the drama with great interest. Because there will be drama!

Also OG players under Les command? Massive scam incoming lmao.

PSFC will be joining but we are finalizing the roster, will update this post once the roster is finalized.

Hello wK Lagstro, I apologize that you were not satisfied with the outcome of the first two BSL's. Regarding your view of the way my tournaments are ran, I can assure you that they are all legitimate. I have paid out earnings to all completed tournaments that I've hosted, cohosted, or funded. Some of those tournaments being: BSL 1, PAS DARMES v2, NA 2v2 Cavalry Tournament, and NA Cavalry League season 1. Concerning the result of the first BSL, it was finished by disqualification because the team "Reign eSports" did not have enough players to play against "Old Guard" on the agreed date, after multiple failed scheduling attempts by the team Captains. BSL 1 for the most part was a resounding success until the final match, almost every other match until that point had been played successfully.

Regarding the outcome of BSL 2, external factors made it impossible to continue the administration of the tournament, and as the bracket was far away from being brought to a finality, no prize money was awarded.

BSL as a tournament exists in a simplified rules, open platform format that requires community cooperation and participation to be held successfully. All prize money for the Bannerlord Skirmish Leagues is a personal donation by me, and sometimes other members of the community to spur interest in playing the game on a competitive level.

Feel free to enter a team, all are welcome, and thanks for your continued interest in the Bannerlord Skirmish League.

More like OG agreeing to reschedule and asking for default 5 mins later by blatantly lying ^^

Like Lagstro said, dont sign up for this tournament with the expectation that you will actually receive your prize money upon its completion. There have been 2 tournaments hosted by the same admin and neither have had money actually given to the winner. Beyond that, hes gone as far as to commit wire fraud and dispute money already paid out to his own team with his credit card company.

If you want to sign up to play a much improved Bannerlord and enjoy competitive tournaments with your team then go right ahead, but do so without expecting a fair atmosphere.

Resorting to outright lying I see.

It's interesting that you gloss over the fact that Reign eSports had been getting their matches done as promptly as possible all tournament long, and it was always your VK teams getting extensions and making Reign eSports wait a long time before being able to play their next match.

Reign eSports finished their quarter final match against The Inactives on May 3, 2020. Reign eSports was forced to wait 13 days before finally being able to play their semi final match against VK2 on May 16, 2020, which resulted in a 6-0 victory for Reign eSports. Then after having to wait nearly 2 weeks just to play their semi finals match, Reign eSports had to wait ANOTHER 10 days for VK1 and OG to finally get their semi finals match done on May 26, 2020.

Quick recap: Reign eSports was sitting around waiting for 23 days, just to play 1 match and find out who their final opponents were going to be.

Then 4 days after the OG and VK1 semi final, the OG captain, after failing to make contact with the Reign eSports captain (iirc, the OG captain didn't even bother sending the Reign eSports captain a message because he never saw him listed as online on steam), decided to contact a regular online member of the Reign eSports team on Saturday night, to ask for a match to be played the very next day.

Now, why would a regular member of the Reign eSports team be in the position to know if his team would be available to play the very next day, especially when his team had been thrust into a period of general inactivity due to the rest of the tournament being delayed for so long? He was asked late at night, meaning this Reign eSports member wouldn’t even be able to find out about his team’s availability until the very day of the "scheduled" match.

This regular member of Reign eSports obviously wasn’t in a position to promise that Reign eSports would be able to play the next day, and instead, it was pretty obvious that what he meant was that he would try to get his team together to play the next day at the requested time IF possible, since that’s what the OG captain would have liked to have happened.

It clearly turned out that Reign eSports did not have their team available to play the finals match at the tentative date and time on such short notice. After this regular Reign eSports member let the OG captain know that Reign eSports would not be able to play at the desired time they had discussed, they agreed to reschedule the match for the next weekend, a time where certainly both teams would be available and ready to play the most important match of the tournament. Then about an hour after they agree to reschedule, Reign eSports gets told that the finals aren't going to be allowed to be rescheduled and that LES is enforcing a forfeit. The person who was forced to become the Reign eSports representative obviously took issue with that, and got in a call with LES and the OG captain to discuss the matter, and even after hearing all the context of the situation, LES still decided to enforce the forfeit on Reign eSports.

Extra tidbit: After LES sent the prize money to the OG captain, he had the gall to suggest to Reign eSports that they should still play against OG the next weekend just for fun, knowing full well that the members of Reign eSports absolutely hated the state of Bannerlord, and were only playing in the tournament for the chance at easy money.

TL;DR: Reign eSports had to wait 23 days just for VK1 and VK2 to lose, then after all 3 of LES' teams were eliminated from his own tournament (at a time when VK was claiming to be an undefeatable clan), LES forced a forfeit on the finalist team Reign eSports after just 5 days, due to a questionable single scheduling issue made between OG's captain, and someone who wasn't Reign eSports' captain.

Even OG's own captain disparaged LES and his tournament immediately after receiving the money. Imagine that, objectively messing up so badly, that even the person handed free money couldn't help but point out how poorly handled the tournament was.

BSL 1 lore aside, I'm not even suggesting that you don't run another tournament; your money is very welcome. I'm suggesting that you surround yourself with an admin team that can help you run a good tournament and prevent you from making dumb decisions that will ruin another one of NA Bannerlord's few tournaments.

Like Lagstro said, OG was paid the money they won!

Mount and Blade tournaments are not meant to earn money, it's for the glory you achieve with your teammates against the people you play against or play with sometimes. It all about the experience. It's there to get into a small competition that you can talk about it for years and make good connections.
I don't care if I'm going to get paid if I win or not. I'm very glad to join my first league/tournament in NA with Dreadswords.
I wish all the best for all competitors and looking forward to play!

Here's the BSL 1 thread. https://forums.taleworlds.com/index...-skirmish-league-ea-old-guard-wins-na.418293/

The conversation surrounding the finals match starts at around page 6. You can read through the posts to piece together the story yourself.

Though tbh, it's probably going to be kind of hard for someone who doesn't know the people posting, and didn't participate in the tournament, to piece it all together.

Since LES was fine with people just telling him the results of a match through steam, there's generally poor documentation of match results throughout the tournament, so you definitely wouldn't be able to figure out the full progression of the tournament through the forums alone. Only some match results were posted. You might be able to figure out the dates of non-posted match results by the banter posts relating to said match, which were typically posted soon after said match was over. Be careful though, because you could easily get thrown off by random troll posts that you may not be able to tell were troll posts at the time.

LES should seriously consider enforcing teams to post all of their match results with screenshots on the forums this time, so that people in the future can easily look back and know exactly what happened in the tournament.
