Started up a new campaign and was surprised to find that a party that sent a companion out on a quest (escort herd quest) and a lot of soldiers to accompany them, suddenly had a severe herd penalty. Apparently, the soldiers left their horses with the party and went on foot ? I went from no herd penalty (while having a big number of horses in the inventory) to -2.9 herd penalty. From that point on, everything moves faster than me, can't catch up and engage anything anymore and sending another companion out on a different quest will only make things worse. Also, while trying to make something out of this waste of a time and opportunity, I wanted to pick up a quest for my party that could be done while being so slow. The quest I wanted to pick up, happened to be another herd escort quest. And another surprise : couldn't accept that quest as I had already accepted one of that type. I would think a companion quest would not count in that regards. Not entirely sure if that is intended either, so just posting it here, hoping Taleworlds picks up on this.

Yeah they don't take horses and you can't give them any. FYI each troops can handle 2 animals so even sending say 15 or 20 can cause a big jump herd penalty if you had a lot of animals in your inventory.

Yeah this is pretty annoying for sure. I'd be all for being able to take multiples of the same quest, but at least being able to send companions out and take them yourself would be a big help. I don't think it's a bug but it could use a revisit for sure.
