Summary: When I launch the game it instantly crashes
How to Reproduce: Just launching the game
Have you used cheats and if so which: I haven't used any recently
Computer Specs: Computer had been running fine, so not necessary, plus I don't know them.
I am playing on steam if that matters.

When I updated the game this morning to patch 1.5.9 and then tried to play it, the game got to the loading screen before the main menu. Tried a few times and it happened every time. Restarted computer and now the game won't even open. Been trying different fixes for hours now and have found no solution.

Did it work before the update?

If the game has some issues after an update we highly recommend verifying the game files. Some of the files might not be downloaded correctly or got corrupted.

You can do it by:
From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game files... button.
Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.

Game not launching
If your game is not launching trying these methods.
1. Deleting the "C:\ProgramData\Mount and Blade II Bannerlord" folder.
2. Verify the game files through Steam.
3. Updating GPU Drivers and OS.

If you are experiencing a crash after the intro video please try this workaround
Navigate to this folder:
"SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Mount & Blade II Bannerlord\GUI"
And delete “spriteData.xml" file and try again. It is not necessary to verify the game files after this. The game will create the file again when it launched again.

Yes it did work before the update, I had played the game just last night. Also, where do I find these files? I have looked but can't seem to locate them.

spriteData.xml is most likely here "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\Common\Mount & Blade II Bannerlord\GUI\Launcher\GUI"

I can't find the C:\ProgramData\Mount and Blade II Bannerlord folder. No matter where I look I don't see it, even with hidden items enabled. Do I just delete the bannerlord folder in my steam folder?

Can you run the following command as administrator and paste the results in this thread?

Were you able to see the crash uploader tool? If you can upload your crash to us we can check it out. Please don't forget to copy the Crash ID and write it here so that we can find it.
More info about the crash uploader tool can be found here.
Have you checked out these threads about our Crash Checklist and Common Issues and Workarounds? They can help you find a solution as well.
I had uploaded the crash report at first, but now I can't even get the game to launch to the point where I can submit a crash report.

Have you tried these workarounds?

Launcher not Launching Workarounds

If you can’t launch the launcher please try the workarounds below
  • The first thing you should do is verifying the game files. This will make sure that the game files are downloaded correctly. After an update, there is a chance of getting corrupted or missing files. This will also help solve that issue.
  • You can try to delete the configs folder of the game located in the Documents folder. Please keep in mind that this will also delete your saved options of the game. Don’t forget to back up the files if you don’t want to delete them. (C:\Users\user.name\Documents\Mount and Blade II Bannerlord\Configs)
  • If you have installed a mod called Fixed Launcher you need to make sure that you have deleted its files.
  • If none of the workarounds did work for you, you can try to launch the game via the TaleWorlds.MountAndBlade.Launcher.Singleplayer.exe and TaleWorlds.MountAndBlade.Launcher.Multiplayer.exe files located in the folder:“...:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Mount & Blade II Bannerlord\bin\Win64_Shipping_Client”. (Please note that these files are only available on the beta build of the game yet.)

Hi, I will mark the issue as resolved. If you encounter the same one in the latest version, please let me know. Thanks!
