What kind of player does TW want MP to actually appeal to?

The meta in bannerlord changes because the changes the gameplay in a massive way. Crushthrough made 2 handers overpowered, so obviously the meta would shift in that direction.
Warband had no patches for years, its incredibly limited what you can do with a game that never changes.

But this goes back to problem of not having a no-limit tournament. TW probably sees equal 3-way split of chosen perks and fairly equal 6-way split of classes through "competitive" matchmaking public games and thinks all is good in the realm.
We have repeatedly told them to host their own mini tournament with teams that are actually ready to withstand 6 cav spam or 3-3 tactic, AVRC even said he would host it but so far nothing...

Now show me where Warband had meta changes from 2012-2020.
6 cav? 3 archers early on to 1 archer late? Long awlpike? A focus on more aggressive and fast engagements due to shorter round time and to limit archer fire? There's been pretty noticeable changes in Warband's history and tbh there's even noticeable changes in the meta depending on who the top team is at the time as people adapt their playstyles to whatever is proving most effective player wise.

Obviously not as large changes due to (bad) changes in Bannerlord, but they were there and fairly pronounced. Even getting all inf javs on round 1 as Nords wasn't done until relatively late on.

6 Cav is the only really different meta, almost everything else is shifting your class setup by one or two

Not really true at all, the class set up changes reflected the change in playstyle as people moved away from kiting crossfires to aggressive quick fighty builds.
And tbh very interesting how that super aggressive style, being most effectively pioneered by Charlini with FT, was gradually countered by the Unity->Dopey->OIDA style of play.
