Statement regarding Plans for Singleplayer and Engine III

Having fewer and larger updates works better for support and testing, because you have fewer versions being played at any moment.
Whenever someone reports a bug, you need to verify it with the same version and then figure out whether it was fixed in some of the later versions (especially the most recent one), so you would know how and when a bug was fixed. This is simpler to keep track of with fewer versions.
Having more frequent and smaller updates works better if your product is very buggy and you need to fix critical bugs left and right. And if each update both solves several crashes and causes several new crashes because the coding boys are careless, then you just need to keep releasing hotfixes and patches, until someone makes those boys stop.

Good point, I didn't consider this. Sounds like the best way to go is larger, more delayed updates plus better communication on progress of each aspect of an update, then.

Esteemed Talewords team and dear M&B Players,

here below I will share my solving to the castle lack of utility with a solution that, in my opinion, will also contribute to improve some aspect of the middle/late game-play + will help factions/clans variety and uniqueness (in particular the 3 Empire factions that has the same roster units) with a very simple addition that, probably, will cost few efforts to the developers.

The castles will provide to every owners the possibility to recruit (throw out the only notable of the castle named "Castle's Bailiff") not the simple noble units, but a special/rare units different from each factions (even include the 3 empire factions in order to gave their roster a different feelings). This special/rare units (only 1,2,3 tier units) will be available only to be recruited by the castle owner and in very few quantity (in less numbers then noble units couse has to be more rare). Tier 1 will be accessible with tier 1 infrastructure garrison of the castle. Upgrading the following infrastructure will allow to have access to tier 2 and then tier 3 (or u can level up the tier 1 as usual with battle experience).

In addition, will be cool, if the AI lords that own the castle can recruit only very few numbers of them (cup limit like less then 10 for party) while only One specific clan and his members will be able to recruit a bigger number of them (like more then 20 for each parties). This clan has to be the closer to the respective factions with shares some affinities in battle style or Armour peaces as better explain below. This way will help to make unique the way of fighting of Clans to give a bit more variety in fighting style of a faction and will make that clan emerge and be remembered among all others of the faction.

In my opinion will be cool to make also the clans of each factions visually distinguishable (as example all family members of a Battian clan have red color hairs / another family clan members can have to the face war painted and so on). This will help a lot the immersiveness of the game.

That said, the player will have access to those units only owing the castle of the faction that can provide this type of unit and will be able to recruit them in a few numbers (or always take them as prisoners form another lords that has them).

Here is the list of unique/rare/special troop (that can be implemented with lore of the game) as suggestion and relative pictures:

1) North Empire: they are closer to the Sturgians and Empire luck or heavy hitter troop despite Sturgians. So this is the figure I thought: a heavy infantry units with 2 handed weapon with armour mixed with sturgian pieces.
Tier 1: Empire Axeman/Woodcutter

Tier 2: Empire veterian Axeman
Tier 3: Empire executioner

2) South Empire: they are closer to the Khuzait and will be cool to see also a mounted archer Cataphract to compete better with the closer heavy archer enemy cavallery.
Tier 1: Empire mounted archer/scout
Tier 2: Empire relay
Tier 3: Empire archer Cataphract

3) East Empire: they are closer to the Battanians and Empire luck or good javelins troop to face the guerrilla from the closer enemy.
Tier 1: Empire Velites https://i.imgur.com/5vyIGhE.jpg
Tier 2: Empire veterian Velites

Tier 3: Empire mounted auxiliary https://i.imgur.com/ojZCQXb.jpg

4) Vlandia: they luck of bowman/archers that remand me of Englang longbowman. Since they are close to Battanians they can have acquire the art of bow from their fians champions. This is the only factions i found out was better to only have a tier 2 unit (with the possibility of two different upgrades) and a tier 3 unit apart with no upgrade.
Tier 1: Vlandia bowman https://i.imgur.com/1VuNL5g.jpg
Tier 2: Vlandia Longbowman / Tier 2: Vlandia mounted Yeoman

Tier 3: Vlandia foot knights (mix of two handed weapon and sword/mace and shield) https://i.imgur.com/X40ssK3.jpg

5) Stugians: girls power, Nothing to say. Everyone wants them and here You have the better lore to include them.
Tier 1: Sturgian swordsister (mix of two handed weapon and sword/axe and shield) https://i.imgur.com/M0mbkG7.jpg
Tier 2: Sturgian shieldmaiden (mix of two handed weapon and sword/axe and shield) https://i.imgur.com/cznaG1i.jpg
Tier 3: Sturgian Valkyrie (mix of two handed weapon and sword/axe and shield)

6) Khuzait: here a bit of lore will be needed. I thought maybe a sort of heavy hitter units with two handed weapons they miss. And that could be a sort of monk/zeloth soldier like Tibetan monks with bold hairstyle and face painted. Will be nice to be added by taleworlds a special 2 handed steel hummer for them that is missing in the game. Their lore can be related to be a sort of a temple protectors.
Tier 1: Khuzait white monk

Tier 2: Khuzait zeloth https://i.imgur.com/PyyxZzi.jpg
Tier 3: Khuzait skullcrusher https://i.imgur.com/0Z81Wub.jpg

7) Battanians: they are closer and worst/ancient enemy of the Empire. They hate them couse Empire has taken their lands and destroyed their religions/ancient traditions. To represent that I thought: a small group of extremists heavy infantry unit that can compete with Empire legionaries with heavy armour and some pieces of Empire legionary most iconic. The unit is hunting for Empire troops and they passed from hunting them down with guerrilla tactics to have learned to fight as Legionary does, with their own heavy equipment.
Tier 1: Battanian scavenger (mix of two handed weapon and sword/axe and shield) https://i.imgur.com/0sM91ZO.jpg
Tier 2: Empire's headhunters (mix of two handed weapon and sword/axe and shield) https://i.imgur.com/J1mXvVL.jpg
Tier 3: Emperors terror (sword shield and javelins) https://i.imgur.com/kywyAQx.jpg

 Aserai: I have nothing in mind for them right now. Open to suggestions.
Thanks for the attention hope my opinions will help somehow to improve the game. Sorry if i did some English mistakes I'm Italian. Sorry i had pictures for all of the troops but i m allowed to upload only 5:sad:...

+1. Please post it on the suggestion forums.

I would like to see random world events . Like ambush in towns or village or the bar brawl. Also the ability to higher Assassins to kill enemy lords and the ncp's able to higher them . Also executions should be for player and ncp's . I don't use the execution option as the ncp's don't use it . it feels like a cheat at the moment. be nice to have a gift's section in the traders of different prices and the gift grants a relationship bonus to who you give it to . You could have spie that tells you a lord likes a special sword and buy it as a gift for a bigger boost for instance. keep up to great work and Thanks

So it is official, we are nearing the end, with only balance, improvents and "minor" features on the horizon.

On one side, I am disapointed that the TW gave up on any meaningful roleplaying quality of the game.
  • No real quests outside of the main questline
  • No enhancements to dialogs to add more player variation
  • No Trait influencing dialog options for players
  • No enhacements to Persuasion (which currently is stupid from a RP standpoint, because you pick ALL the options, only the order in which you pick them is up to the player)
  • No improvements to marriage, which is just so terrible from a RP standpoint
  • No feasts, or any events of any kind. All there is is Combat (oh, and Board Games).
  • No dialog support for game features (as a second method to using the menu)
    • No dialogs to give immersion for Kingdom Decisions and Diplomacy
  • No support for Scenes. (Please give me a REASON to visit these scenes!)
  • No interesting companios
  • No gang-related features, making Roguery only meaningful (you guessed it!) in Combat, in the form of Raiding and Loot
  • No further point to Minor Factions, except as extra parties for warfare.
  • I could go in...
On the other side, this means release is much closer than I hoped, which means modders can finally take over...
I sort of get what you mean but they haven't said its nearly finished. As for villages and cities i don't load into the i just use the menu as there's no need to walk the streets they look nice but there's just no need. The game need more to do more intrigue spies, assassins, plotting against each other, feast, bar brawls , drinking games, arena battles to the death ( proper gladiator style) . Its so lacking at the moment. The marriage is not as good a warbands build up . I like the family system and heir system but the games got to last until you get to that point or your characters got to die before there time.

Echoing this comment about them not saying its finished. Given how long the game was in development before EA, I would be neither surprised nor disappointed if EA lasted a lot longer than was planned at the outset. If it turns out that with EA they're able to continue developing more narrative and more socially immersive flesh on these beautiful bones, I'm all for them taking as much time as they need to get it right.

As much negative gripe as we get in the forum, there is so, so, so much going on in this game that is very "right." If more of that takes time, so be it.

I own the game and around 600hrs between me and my brother . We still don't have anything more than a more stable game i have only crashed once ever its pretty solid game . The game its self is a shell and not much more. The battles are fun and the economy is ok but after a long campaign it starts to break , some of the weapon and armour prices are so silly half a million for armour you sell this to a city and its crippled. when not at war you have the fighting arena (yes more fighting) or you can go from city to city trading and that's is the problem when not at war there is almost nothing to do between war i make that much money from shops and caravans and my city is just stay Sorgot and speed up time do the odd quest waiting for war . Getting married and children is pointless apart from clan heir (my starting character is 49years and my children are at 17years and below i am willing my character to die in battle to play so i can play his son ,i have even thrown my self from the top of castle in a battle i was losing but lived lol . I would say reduce the prices of armour and weapons a lot but give them a chance to ruin and require repair or if you get captured have a chance to be taken .
Add intrigue in peace or war time there is a mod call (intrigue) its a bit rough but its got good idea's. there is a also a mod called plagues another great idea.
Getting married in warband was way better . Maybe this could raise relationship with the clan you marry too. increase the chance of death in battle as the character gets older .

Yes i get your point. just chucking some ideas forward hoping some things stick to be honest.

yes we want that but always do not die like ai did in the game we want to die in battle as well like ai
I keep trying to kill my character in battle so i can play my son . But even after i through my character from the highest point of a castle and i had low health , i still lived. 2000days into the game and i have tried to die over a 100 time at least.

The player cannot die in battle

@Duh_TaleWorlds
  • Skill Progression & Effects Balancing
This is still a major problem that hasn't been fixed and it's 1.5.9. Medicine, roguery, engineering, trade to get to 300(only perk in game not 275) takes forever, slow riding and athletics on campaign map, think about companions, why have 200 or higher perks for govenors if there is virtually no chance companions can reach that. Focus for players and companions needs serious work
Why not just increase focus per point for slower skills, we are 1 year into game and still not adjusted, give us some help

Adding New Quests
Why continue to add a feature nobody really likes? I would prefer devs spending their time creating depth to the already existing quests by creating characters story development. Quality >> Quantity

Earlygame quest quantity is fine, but mid/lategame quest quantity is too low. I would love to see political quests you can participate in as a vassal to raise your status, or quests you can do for the minor factions to gain access to their troops.

As you said though, more depth would also be very valuable. I don't think anyone desperately wants any more "gather X item" quests.

Well 7 Days to DIe by The FUnPims is still played game and was in EA for like 9-10 years now if i remmember correctly and i have no problems them still being in EA but they are alredy set on going for Golden/finishing the game bcs theyw orked for like 9+ years on it and was in EA for 9+ years and they proably got tierd and most likely last of their resorces/money is drying up rapidly and they still didnt manage to implement NPCs bandint into the game properly and som eoher stuff. They probbaly like runing out of funds so they want to finish it and then via DLCs tyr to give more life and more needed funding for maybe their next game.
Same with Bannerlord i have no problems if they would be in EA for like 2/3 more years IF they periodicaly in like every few months release some new additions to the game that will change/better the game itself no matter wich area of the game.So me personaly actualy expect them to go atleast 2/3 more years in EA bcs I PERSONALY would want them to do it rather tha just oh release it and then be autter disaster. The ONLY time i would like be to small extent understanding is if they run out of money and were forced to release the obviously unfinished game as full released due to budget being dried out.
